At our very first day in Yerevan, a Brazilian friend took us for lunch at "Abovyan 12"! And it was indeed a perfect choice! The place is beautiful and has a very special and warm atmosphere! It is an open-air restaurant, you seat under the...grape vines and local art is seen at every single corner! A nice typical Armenian meal, friendly service and normal prices, plus a fantastic location, near "Republic Square", the "Dancing Fountains" and "Norhtern Avenue". And I did come back for souvenirs as, right at its entrance, there is one of the best souvenir shops of all Yerevan! Bon Appétit!More

Our experience here was excellent. The food was very good as was the service. I thought the prices were reasonable and the rustic character of the restaurant was enjoyable. Cool place. Would eat here again.

What a unique place! You need to go through the Dalan Art Gallery to the courtyard in back, which is where the restaurant is. There's also artwork around the courtyard too. We had these pancakes/meat rolls that were really good, as was the fresh squeezed...orange juice. We sat under the arbor, which was covered in grapes. Perfect location for breakfast.More

Are you kidding me? This place is one of the best, in terms of food quality, service and atmosphere. Don't be fooled by the glits and glamour competitions. This place is all real. There is hardly any pretentiousness here by the patrons or the staff....It's real good good, done great. Try the spinach sun flower salad, the lentil soup and don't forget the harrisa. Everything I have tried tastes like grandma used to make and I will keep going back. I even had a special request for them to make me tenakan jarit (home style fries, cripsy with onions) and they did as I asked, It was delicious. This place is a hidden, it's next to a gift shop which I think is part of the restaurant.More

We went twice during the our trip. During the first visit, we sat outside. There was one waiter that spoke English so that was helpful. The food and service were outstanding the first time. On our second visit, we sat inside in an upstairs room....The food an service were quite different. The service was VERY SLOW and the food was not great. For example, on the first visit we ordered rice pilaf and got the rice with the vermicelli which was what we wanted and it was delicious. On the second visit, we ordered rice pilaf again because we liked it so much, and we got white rice. When we questioned the order, this time around the server said we had not specified and there was none ready. we would have to wait 20 minutes for it.More

Came here after the reco of the Yerevan citizen. It was worth visiting: charming place, with good Armenian food. Portions are big with more than average prices, it was very tasty. Worth visiting.
