I would give five starts for the food but the service is AWFUL. Sooooooo slow. Literally wait 15 minutes for order food, and then forever for the check, although the food does arrive quickly once ordered. Also terrible customer service to arrive in the garden...and then wait to be noticed. Apparently you’re supposed to flag a passing waiter. Very unprofessional. But a handsome, tall young waiter served me and was great :) Anyway onto the GREAT food. The menu is huge and offers Armenian food unlike I’ve seen elsewhere. More than just dolma and ishkan (trout). Absolutely wonderful veg options, and big portion sizes. For the first time, there was no space in the garden (I had not made a rez) so o sat inside. I ordered the basturma salad (not realising basturma is meat!) but I loved the beet greens, sheep cheese and walnut mixture. Very fresh and moreish. I also got the eggplant rolls which were smaller than I expected but then again, food for appetiser size. The combo with strained yogurt was delicious. Finally I had the aveluk (mountain sorrel soup). Also very tasty. Tonight, I had the Armenian cheese platter and the kelegyosh (lentils/onions/matzoon (yogurt)/lavash). Utterly tasty on both sides and enough cheese to take half back to the hotel for takeaway. Plus 2 glasses of the wonderfully dry Zulal, recommended by the waiter. The garden is gorgeous and a huge draw obviously. Despite my service grumbling, I still might return here in the next 6 days I’m in Yerevan.More
