We stumbled across this restaurant and will forever be glad that we did. The owner was incredibly friendly, the menu extensive and there was a lovely atmosphere. I saw on the menu before we visited that they offered gluten free pizza and couldn’t believe my...eyes! I have yet to find a restaurant serving gluten free pizza in Hanoi.
The gluten free base was crispy but not hard. The pizza was HUGE and the cheese plentiful. I didn’t enquire about cooking methods and cross contamination, but didn’t have a reaction which is fantastic.
We would highly recommend this restaurant, particularly if you are a member of the gluten free/celiac club.More
We had an absolutely lovely dinner here one night towards the end of our 5 weeks in southeast Asia. The owner/manager Jennes welcomed us warmly then enthusiastically offered to show us the collection of antiquities on the premises. While drinking our tasty cocktails Jennes provided...us information about the menu which is huge. He is so passionate about the restaurant and cuisine that we looked forward to our meal. Our dinners were outstanding. My salmon pasta was a highlight of our trip. The service was attentive and friendly. At the end of the night, Jennes even offered to give us a ride back to our hotel as he was headed to another new restaurant of his. That was the type of thing that you remember long after your meal has ended. If you are looking for a special evening while in Hue, be sure to stop at CocoClub. You will not be disappointed. Thank you Jennes!More
This restaurant is not in the touristy area, but is definitely worth the 20 min walk or 5 minute taxi ride. We were attracted by the diversity of cuisines; French, Vietnamese, Italian, plus the great reviews. We met the charming owner, Jennes, who is ethnically...Vietnamese but was raised and lived in France. The menu is enormous- 50 pages and is as thick as a book. But Jennes guided us to selections that he had the materials for that day and that he thought we would enjoy. We had French cuisine; lamb and chicken dishes with fabulous sauces and side dishes. A huge and delicious Mediterranean salad started the meal with a Chilean Sav Blanc, and Creme Brûlée and Grand Marnier snifters finished it. While expensive compared to the typical Vietnamese meal, it was only $60 USD. I would guess a $200 meal in the US.
The location seems dodgy; it’s definitely not in a neighborhood that is touristy. Our GPS told us to walk down some railroad tracks. Just take a taxi. The setting and ambiance is wonderful; open, outside in a large courtyard with quiet seating areas, a pool, great lighting, nice table sets, beautiful bar. It also is a hotel with rooms that look quite inviting.
Highly recommend if you’re ready for great options that include fine non-Vietnamese food. I’m sure that the Vietnamese food is great as well - the chef and kitchen clearly know what they are doing.
Service was excellent, but hard to really know as there was only one large party of 20, then us. Jennes is charming if you get a chance to meet him. Fun to hear a Vietnamese man with a French accent.More

When we first time turned onto the small street where Cocodo is located, we saw it not-enough lighted and felt kind of ??. However, as soon as we saw the facility, we were filled with joy to see such a beautiful place. The guard at...the gate and an attendant received us and guided to the dining table. The food was excellent beyond expectation, and not expensive. Two of us spent less than US$10. The owner who is also an experienced chef, Jennes, personally came to see us 4-5 times to ask how we were doing and how was the food. The experience was so good that the next day we went there again for the dinner, a hot pot of vegetables or fish costing about US$ 11-12 and the owner personally attended the process of cooking several times. The dining hall is very well decorated and beautiful. The apartments upstairs are very spacious and cost effective, worth the money. Not far from the city centre, a taxi ride would cost about one US$ or less. Our daughter plans to visit Viet Nam and we are going to recommend her to stay and dine at this place. I wish we had more time to stay in Hue and enjoy this facility. We would come here again and again.
