I enjoyed a delicious meal

I enjoyed a delicious meal at this very nice restaurant. All of the lovely young women servers were professional, friendly, gracious, and spoke English well. My server HUA, took very good care of me. I ordered the beet, arugula and orange segment salad which was fresh and nice and the foie gras appetizer for my entree, which was delicious. They served a large amuse bouche to begin, as well as delicious bread. It is not inexpensive, but very well priced for the quality and style of the food and wine.

An Excellent experience of French Sunday Brunch

It is my second time to this fantastic restaurant and the experience is great. I feel really comfort with their service. Their waitress, T-huy, is polite and patient to serve us and customise our order in food. The food is delicious with beautiful decoration. I strongly recommend this restaurant to all of you and I definitely will come again when I go to vietnam next time.

The highlight of the trip

An unforgettable dinner in Ho Chi Minh City. We came here on my husband’s birthday. Our waitress is Ms. VY. She is wonderful. She helped to surprise my husband with singing Happy Birthday song and serving a dessert that has his nickname on the plate. Great food and staff. Highly recommended.

caviar tasting menu not worth the money

I booked this place far ahead based on all the great reviews and had high expectation for it. We oped for the caviar tasting menu and I would have to say that's probably the most expensive bad meal we had in Vietnam during our 10 day trip. The first dish they put chewy pop corn with the main item, not matching at all. The taste for all the dishes seems off and even the dessert was off to the sour side. Maybe if they concentrate on using all the caviar on one or 2 dishes rather than putting a little with every dish, the result will be better. With a little with each dish, we couldn't taste the caviar at all. The price tag for the tasting menu was high probably due to the caviar used but since we couldn't really taste them, seemed a waste of money. If we went for al carte, it will probably a better experience. Also, while we were there, we saw a big cockroach climbing around us, we had to move to another table to avoid it. We understand that with the humid hot weather, it can happened. However, we went to many restaurants during the trip and it only happened at this one place.

Very noisey, poor service and food.

Wife and I visited this restaurant during our recent visit to Ho Chi Minh. I picked it as a special treat as most reviews were very positive, sadly our experience was not in that category. On the plus side we arrived without a reservation and they found us a table, unfortunately we were between a table of business people, around 8 or 10 of them, and a table of 5 people. It was so noisy we could not talk to each other. On top of this the focus of the staff was to look after these two tables at our expense. We were kept waiting for quite some time. With lots of "sorry to keep you waiting" from the serving staff. Food wise my wife opted for a set dinner and she enjoyed it. I chose a apparatus starter which was very good, followed by a duck main course which was so salty I couldn't eat it. When the staff saw I had not eaten the dinner, they were concerned and I explained that it was because it so salty i was unable to eat it and that I could not taste the duck at all only salt. The manager came and explained that the duck was salted, for 24hrs prior to cooking, and that was how it was meant to be, he explained it was a French dish and that he had asked his staff to explain that the dish was salty, to anyone who ordered it. They hadn't done this when I ordered it. I actually felt, due to his comments, that it was my fault as I was not French, which I assume he is. So because of the high noise level, poor service and quality of food I will only give two stars.

Please accept my apologies. I am glad to read that your wife enjoyed her meal and that you found the appetizer very good. You choose the duck confit and as explained by our manager it's a salty dish. It's actually one of our best seller. I am saddened that you took his explanation in a such negative way and being that sensitive. He offered to change the dish, you denied, he offered you a dessert, you denied, he offered you a digestif, you denied, finally the dish was taken out of your bill. Unsure how he could recover the situation. Should you choose to visit us again, please let me know directly and I will be please to look after you personally. Does one have to order a main to get to dessert ?

Wow! This restaurant is the number one rated French restaurant in Saigon and from what we could tell well deserved. Of course, my wife looks at the dessert menu first and was pleased when she found her chocolate mousse/lava cake with vanilla ice cream. But the real surprise game with her black Angus fillet with Kampot pepper sauce, accompanied by cream scalloped potatoes. Well I had the YQ flank steak, it suffered from some rubberiness, but there was plenty of fillet to see two adults. French wine (the sommelier indicated the wine list was going to change a week after our visit) added to the experience, but the highlight was the chocolate mousse cake and cream Brulé both of which were outstanding. An attentive helpful staff always helps finish a meal.

This is our first time to this French Course Restaurant in Saigon. Service staff Ms Thuy try to explain the signature dishes/popular menu to us. She explains every single dish when foods are serve. Overall foods are great and ambiance is good.

Sorry for the lack of food pictures…. It was simply WAY too delicious and I ate before I snapped :-) Come with an empty stomach the entire menu is delicious! I would recommend ordering 1 of each for each person in your group. The sharing dish could be served in pairs… but for the price they are nice and delicious It would be great to have the option of having coffee with dessert. The service was great and even with a mask it was super smiley. He’s Hung Seriously worth it! Enjoy 😁

Great selection of food/dishes, everything we ordered was very tasty. The foods and service can be a lil bit slow due to understaff but our waiters were extremely attentive and friendly, take care of every details (Hung & Phu), and gave us “complimentary” food to celebrate my birthday.. Lived up to it's reputation

One of us took their degustation menu, and three of us went a la carte. The meal was beautiful, as was the service. We rated each of three courses, the atmosphere, service level, and value for money. It came down to 3.9 out of 5. This was done on the basis of it being already a 5 star restaurant. A score they should be proud of. Great food presentation, and a little adventurous. Our last evening in Saigon, and one to remember.

Aging meat and live flambé - The best I had so far

I've just visited the restaurant recently for dinner. It was on Saturday with their Jazz night. I love their cozy atmosphere with attentive service. I love the part where the chef comes to my table and do live flambé the meat I ordered. The beef was so tender, flambé just makes it perfect with the taste. I will definitely come back very soon for their other choices.

Wonderful French Resto

Celebrated a friend's birthday over dinner. Located near Opera House. Service was excellent. Our server was Sau who spoke excellent English and gave wonderful food recommendations. The decor is all black with fresh red roses bouquets on each table for contrast. We were seated on the 2nd floor. Food presentation and taste were excellent. The Sauvignon Blanc went well with our meal. Price is on the high side as you would expect. The restaurant served a Mille Feuille with a candle on it for our birthday friend on the house which really made our dinner experience that much more special.

Elaborative French feast

Long heard of praises on Le Corto as the best French restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City and finally got a chance to try. Reservation was smooth by email and staff is careful to details. Service is impeccably top-notch. However, it is the food that delivers and our meal is simply perfect. Oyster gratin is a lovely start of our French feast. The shellfish is fresh from Nha Trang and full of umami. The rich cream sauce adds color to the beautiful oyster. Truffle soup is a clear, flavorful consumme with beef, foie gras and vegetable. An appealing middle course before the entree. Tournedos Rossini, a cornerstone of French haute cuisine, is flawless. Chateaubriand remains tender and juicy with the oily aroma of foie gras and an appetizing jus. Chocolate souffle is a wonderful end to the meal. Price is still modest for tourists given the quality of presentation and delivery. Will definitely recommend.

Degustation Menu

My wife and kids went to Le Corto last night. What an amazing experience. Each course was meticulously prepared, the presentation was a work of art, our service (Hung , Truc)was friendly and efficient with every dish timed perfectly. We enjoyed the variety of Degustation set menu (5 course). Each was unique and delightful. Our server helped us identify wine pairings that were both priced appropriately and complimented our food. If we are ever back in Saigon, we will visit Le Corto again. Eat there... you won't regret it.

Disappointing experience

We ordered the canadian lobster fettucine, cod fish and scallops for mains. Scallops were well prepared. Best dish we had. Cod fish was alright. However, the fettcucine was clearly undercooked, with pieces lumped together and too tough to chew. It was also too dry and bland. When we gave our feedback to the staff, she was apologetic about it. She came back and informed us that she has shared our feedback with her manager and the manager has instructed her to take that item off our bill. We appreciated the gesture and thanked her. However, another lady staff came to our table a while later to ask us about our feedback. She told us that fettucine is supposed to be undercooked and a little hard. We didn't want to argue with her. I mean come on. It was not our first time eating fettucine, or any pasta for the matter. We just wanted to let the restaurant have our feedback. Instead of investigating with kitchen staff or stepping up on their quality control before serving their food, she was defensive and disregarded our feedback. When the bill came, the fettucine was included despite what the first staff had said. Instead, they gave us a 10% discount and a slice of birthday cheesecake and some chocolates. Again, we didn't want to make a big deal out of it. We came here prepared to spend. It was just really disappointing because we really just wanted to have a great meal after 2 hectic days in HCM city. Service was excellent until the 2nd female staff approached us. Maybe this is a one-off bad showing. But I'll say try some where else.
