I visited as part of a small group. It was just pre-pandemic, but our temperatures were taken before entering because one case of Covid-19 had arrived in North Vietnam by that stage. The "Noir" experience was explained and we were blindfolded and given some fun...game-like tasks in a lit lobby area, to get accustomed to "blindness". We were then led, still blindfolded, into dining area, all in total blackness as the waiters were blind anyway and perfectly adept at manoeuvring between tables and service. The food was just superb, lots of small courses. After the meal and back in the light of the lobby, we were told what we'd eaten. I was surprised that I'd identified so few of the ingredients! All totally delicious. If you were allergic/averse to anything, you could say beforehand and it would be tailored for you. I would definitely return here, probably my best meal during my whole time in Vietnam!More

Wow, what an experience. All of the staff we met (An, Hue and Viet) were fantastic. Viet even taught me to sign my name in Vietnamese Sign Language, completely different to British Sign Language (as are the spoken languages.) I will bring my friends here...when the menu changes and I am already planning to go to the sister restaurant Blanc. Everything about this place is so well thought out and executed. It is genuinely amazing!More

I don’t usually write reviews but decided that I had to after my amazing experience at Noir. This is in fact my fifth time coming to Noir and not to my surprise, the service and quality of food were superb. I had the East Meets...West menu and honestly loved each and every one of the dishes across the three courses. As always the food at Noir is creative, unique and exciting, both to eat and to discuss with your fellow companions. Chị Huệ was my server for the evening and I found her to be extremely lovely, kind and attentive. Also, the server that welcomed me into the restaurant (unfortunately I don’t know his name) actually recognized me which was awesome! The staff at Noir are part of the reason why I always end up coming back here. Additionally, the fact that Noir is a social enterprise that supports the visually-impaired and the hearing-impaired who often face many difficulties in gaining employment makes the dining experience much more meaningful and valuable. I truly believe that Noir is contributing positively in creating the social change needed in our society. I’d like to thank Noir for making my fifth experience yet another unforgettable and enjoyable one. I’ll definitely come back for sure and I am positive that Noir will continue to offer such amazing experiences every time I visit.More

Our visit to Noir was amazing, from the introduction all the way to the end. While we won't spoil the details (you really have to go there and find out by yourself) we can say that it's equally intimate and exciting. And of course the...food is great. How could I mix up the taste of beef and duck while dining in the dark? The combined Western and Asian option with matching wines was delicious. My favorite was no doubt the main course placed top left, and either the desert to the left...or right. Ms Trang made us feel comfortable, and she provided excellent guidance and service. I even got more of my favorites. While you’re in the dark, propose a toast and check your 6th sense of proprioception. I will come back for more as I seriously need to train my senses.More

I loved this experience. It's unique, and very well delivered. On top of this, it's a social enterprise that supports visually impaired people by providing training and jobs in hospitality. My friends and I had the Asian/Oriental menu and enjoyed every dish. Our server was...very lovely as well, and communicated with us throughout our meal to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. The food itself was delicious. The menu was made up of classic Vietnamese dishes that were elevated with fresh ingredients, modern cooking techniques and surprising twists. The concept was executed really well, because we were really able to focus on the food, the flavours, textures, smells... So wonderful! The price that you pay for the quality of food and service is really good value. Will be recommending it to anyone and everyone travelling to HCMC.More

A very unique, memorable dining experience. The evening starts off with trying out some blindfolded exercises to see how well you can match shapes into a board - a taster for what you're about to do later in the meal. Then, you're led into the...pitch-black restaurant by one of the blind staff who works there. It's completely pitch-black in the restaurant, save for a couple of red illuminated dots which I assume are for the exit(s). We even managed to have a few glasses of wine, as well as the many course in the meal, trying to identify what we were eating as we were eating it. Really interesting to see how we fared without our phones AND sight during the meal. Afterwards, we sat back downstairs where the lights are on and got to see what we had just eaten - some things were way off, but most of them were close or correct. Definitely an unforgettable experience! You have to try it.More

We really enjoyed our meal at Noir when visiting HCMC recently. The evening was a present from our Daughter and her Boyfriend who visited the restaurant 2 years ago whilst travelling, and felt that we must try it too! The staff are amazing and they...provided a unique dining experience which we will never forget. We chose the Asian menu and were then lead into the pitch black dining to our table by our waitress ( who was blind). We ordered a bottle of wine to go with our meal and our glasses were re-filled throughout the meal without spilling a drop! Somehow, we ate our way through an 11 course menu which was great - especially with our hightened sense of taste. After the meal we sat down with our ( sighted ) manager who went through the menu with us on an ipad to show us what we had eaten. Amazingly, we correctly identified most of the dishes. This is a wonderful concept which offers employment to the handicapped people of HCMC - who normally have great difficulty in gaining employment - so the price point reflects the extra work involved in making this a reality. Thanks to everyone at Noir for serving us during our stay in the City.More

The staff performs a bit of a symphony of service when you arrive. You're welcomed with a drink (alcoholic or not). You're asked to place shapes onto a board blind folded and they walk you through the menu. You're then escorted to your dining area...by a person who is visually impaired and who is to be your server for the evening. Hieu was our guy - he was fantastic! He was funny and charismatic. I one point I said, "I see" and Hieu laughed and made a joke about it. My boyfriend and I chose the menu from the West so that we can both try to identify our meal. At first i freaked out. I didnt even want to put my feet on the floor. After a bit you feel a lot more comfortable with the experience. I highly recommend this to anyone who's interested. At the end of the night we were shown pictures of the different dishes we ate - we were wayyy off. The staff member who walked us through the pictures was the loveliest. I wish i remembered his name. He explained the history of Noir, where it started, how it now has expanded to hiring hearing impaired as well in their flower shop. The entire evening was an unforgettable experience. -Must go!More
