My group and I unknowingly sat next to the owner, who could not have been more welcoming! He even did sake bombs with us! The service overall was outstanding, the food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. I eat sushi often at home in...NY but this sushi was by far the best i've ever had. I was especially surprised by the California roll - I'm still thinking about it days later I also highly recommend the Pho fried rice and the Mr. Van roll. The food is big portions so we were all beyond stuffed by the end, but we cannot wait to come back ASAP.More
The Sushi tastes quite fine. It is presented nicely on the plates. They have special offers during the day to have 2 for the price of one. Anyway we paid around 30€ for two people with many plates and two beer. The staff was friendly....the interieur is actually not nice but we came for the food.More
We stayed a month in Vietnam which included three trips to HCM and made it a point to eat here each time. I know before coming to Vietnam I had reservations about having sushi in the country but Ichiban's food blew all that out of...the water. The fish was incredibly fresh and delicious. We ate sashmi, hand rolls, grilled fish, sushi rolls and cooked food. We basically sample each section of their expansive menu. One of our favorites was the Beef Pho fried rice - fantastic flavors reminence of the national pho soup but with rice and very aromatic basil.
To keep your expectations aligned, this definitely a California-style sushi restaurant with the fun designer rolls. They have the best happy hour menus with huge value and uncompromised food. I brought in my parents to the restaurant for one of our meals and my mom said it was so good she wants to eat there again. I also really enjoy their cold ice tea, I believe it to be gen mai cha - so refreshing!More
I had the omkase and two handrolls (salmon skin and scallop). Overall, the quality of seafood was good especially for the price. Normally, I love salmon skin and this one was a little short. However, the sashimi was fresh, tender, and flavorful. Staff was friendly...and helpful. Would recommend!More
DPC. Delicious, Pretty, Close is this place. And also Detailed. DPCD! I loved my experience at Ichiban Sushi. Every taste and moment I felt was curated for a hungry sushi lover like myself. From the frost laden mug of ice cold beer to the delicious...egg inspired appetizer I had (I forgot the name of the dish) to amazing salmon roll I had that was augmented with flowers. Service was amazing, very personable. I wish I went there hungrier and thirstier!More
