Went to this place a couple years ago with a friend. We ordered fillet broiled pork. They didn't have fat - fine. But the meat was really really rough. It was like chewing on a piece of rubber. We returned it. They brought out another...dish - same story. I told them sorry - can't accept this dish. The female manager insisted that "nobody complained but us - nothing wrong with the meat." I asked to talk to her manager. She said her manager not around. After back and forth for 15 minutes. They offered a refund. They charged American price but provided trash service. Those two dishes of old pork costed $0.25 in Vietnam. It was not worth being stubborn and arguing with guests over $0.25.More

The restaurant is quite quiet, designed to suit the ancient Vietnamese culture, popular dishes without specialties and not delicious.

An interesting one, this. Our guide recommended it as a place where wealthy Vietnamese ate and without doubt, the food is very good quality and the menu is so thick and extensive that it's almost daunting. We enjoyed the meal, service was good and we...were kindly seated in the small (three tables/ten covers) VIP room at the rear where Barack Obama ate when he visited HCM City. Value for money wise, my wife and I shared a five course meal that cost just $35 plus drinks and tip, so that's fine. So why not more excitement in my review? I'm really not sure. It's a little way outside central HCM City, so you'll probably need a taxi there and back (ours cost $10 return) and maybe it was what we chose, but there were two other restaurants in HCM City where we ate which we rated higher (indeed one of which we thought was exceptional). So, a nice ambiance and 'real' Vietnamese food but a little way out of the city centre. I'd try it if you're staying for a reasonable period but otherwise we probably had favourites elsewhere.More

This establishment have 2 locations, both provided every day Vietnamese dishes. (A larger location at the pictures located in the website and the smaller one located at Thach thi Thanh street) It's a no none fanfare tradition VN families meal, target to the Viet kieu...and travel tourist. The meals are average at best, but that's the intention, just try to reminded the long gone families meals in some Viet kieu past. It's quiet expensive for the local, but for the tourist are same cost at an fast food establishment. The deco are throw back to 50's 60's Vietnam area, it's not a tradition home of the local at least not my years ago home.t It's worth trying for tourist and good to eat it again for Viet kieu.More

First time having Vietnamese cuisine which reminds me so much of home cooked food. Delicious and tasty meal in a very warm cosy ambience. Indeed a gem!

+ Nice decorated place - The food (quality and flavor) could have been better compare to having a nice restaurant

Lovely and tasteful decor, beautiful flowers. Our server spoke excellent English while not very friendly or smiley, (which is not a fundamental problem. Some cultural stuff). Nice neighbourhood, while kind of far from the center where many tourists stay. Food was simple but mostly quite...tasty. Liked: fried noodles, green papaya salad, fried soft shell crab (a bit soggy), deep fried tofu with lemon grass, fresh juice. Children liked the squid fries but for me not out of the ordinary. Spring rolls too dry and herbs too strong. Reservation recommended. Eating outside seemed like a good idea. A big group of tourists a bit too loud in the room we were in.More
