Prompt service, good music and delicious food. District Federal did not disappoint. The Mexican bahn mi was simply delicious!!!
Wish we could've sampled some house tortilla chips (not offered by the restaurant). Overall, did not disappoint. Would highly recommend a meal here.
I've been going to this place since it opened. The food is consistently great and the menu is constantly evolving as the owners are continually experimenting/innovating. Service is pretty good and loads better than the standard in Vietnam. I talked to one of the owners--very...hands-on, very passionate about searching for improvements. He talked about the process for making their tortillas, how many mL of water per 100 grams of masa, how they roast pork skin for chicharrones...I got lost in the details but clearly he is driven to find new delights for the menu. Examples: molcajete salsa, new vegan menu, etc. Occasionally they have live music, which is fun.
On one occasion my food came out cold (they were extremely busy). I pointed it out, got an immediate apology from a manager, and they made it right very promptly.
I read a few extremely negative reviews here before writing this. Interestingly they're all clustered around the same time. I'm sorry, they sound like poor attempts to slam this place made by competitors. Over the course of several years and many meals (and many more margaritas) I've always had a great experience here. To those who complain it's not "real" or "authentic" Mexican food...tranquilo, estas en Vietnam, tome una cerveza y no te preocupes. It's flavorful and plenty spicy and reasonably priced, and the menu is a lot more interesting than any other Mexican place I've been--including in Mexico.
(oh...they have a wicked mescal too...)More
This is one of the best Mexican food places I have been to in HCMC. It’s very new restaurant with a very uniquely designed pub and restaurant.

Its as close to Mexico as it can get. Love the open kitchen and the fire grill on display. Dishes are authentic and full of flavor. Margarita cocktail is super. The decorations are splendid. All dishes at top. Not impressed by the ceviche. But a...super restaurant.More
i was here on my 21st birthday 24th August but i was quite busy recently so i couldnt write my review of this place.
that was such amazing experience for my first trying Mexican food. i got different flavor of tácos ( i'm sorry that...i don't remember exactly name of them). they have the latin music band serves on saturday as well. they somehow contributed unforgettable moments to my birthday
Possibly the saltiest thing I've ever eaten. Carne Asada all salt, no flavor. Tough and sinewy. Menu description a bit misleading. Chimichurri was green...no garlic, no zing. Cooks need to be tasting all the time. And if they like all salt, then consider another occupation....Magaritas are sugar bombs. Probably good if you’re 18yr old.
Ceviche was excellent.
Probably good if you haven’t had real Mexican.More

I am very disappointed to receive such a review... did you complain to any of the staff or manager on duty? If the steak was so bad that is obviously not the standard we serve or we wouldn’t be open ... we would 100% have...More
I looked up the history of the burrito. It didn’t say anything about pickled cabbage as an ingredient. Mine was half cabbage half meat. No beans, rice. My boy thought his tasted more like peanut butter and jelly. Trying to modernize something traditional doesn’t always...work. Keeping it simple and traditional is ALWAYS the better path. Meat, beans, rice cheese and whatever toppings. Service and margaritas are excellent.
Probably good if you haven’t had real Mexican food.More
