My wife and I stopped in for dinner recently to try out Maisen Bistro and were delighted by the atmosphere and quality of the food. I had the German sausages with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut while she had the salmon steak. Both were delicious and...reasonably priced. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. As mentioned by other reviewers, this restaurant also acts as a school for disadvantaged minority youths from Vietnam, and these young people are learning English as well as important career skills. A wonderful restaurant and a wonderful cause.More
We are staying near by for a few days and saw this was in close walking distance. We've been to Saigon dozens of times before, but this is one of my best meals yet! I had the bun thit nuong and wasn't disappointed! The spring...rolls were some of the best I've ever had! The watermelon beet juice was also very yummy!
Lovely service and a very nice atmosphere! We will definitely be back!More
It's a school and restaurant operated by a charity organization for socially disadvantaged students. I had pumpkin soup and sauteed salmon with cream sauce. The soup was beautifully presented with cream on top and tasted great. The salmon was fresh too. Staff/students were working hard...and attentive. They have some tables in a small yard, so if it's a sunny day, it would be great to dine outside.More
This is training center for the poor youth from rural areas of the southern part of Vietnam. The kids undergo a Dual Training System in the culinary arts. The students served good food and spoke English fluently.
The food is excellent and you’ll get a wide range of dishes in here (Vieatnamese, Italian, German, ...). For expats the German bread and original German beer is highly recommended!
Staff is very friendly and in no time we got our dishes!
By the way,...eating in here pays to your Karma account as the whole place is run by Trainees of Gastronomy - mostly from underprivileged and poor backgrounds. So your dining supports their future!
Good food - check!
Nice ambience - double check!
Plus great location and attentive service.
What was surprising is that the place is run by students - mostly from underprivileged backgrounds who are interested in developing a career in the F&B trade.
Had a very...good experience. Keep it up!More
Window surround, large filled out trees in the courtyard. Luscious food. Delicious salmon, sumptuous pumpkin soup. Pleasantly cool air conditioning inside, but also, an inviting courtyard of tables under shade trees. Sidewalk past the kitchen and food preparation area to the Toileting area. Professional wait...help.More
Window surround, large filled out trees in the courtyard. Luscious food, courteous servers. A mission of sorts to equip the disadvantaged youth with worthy cooking and hospitality skills. Come on, give it a try! Be pleased!
