The 'training' in the title stands for the fact that most of the staff are disadvantaged youth who are trained here to get a chance at a better future. The meals are a bit more expensive than the standard Vietnamese restaurants in old quarter, but you'll be guaranteed to have a good meal. This restaurant can easily handle large groups.

The food from the trainees are quite good. We can see the willingness of those young people to get out from poverty! Thanks to the founder! Reminder: This restaurant is from charity initiative of a group of people (Vietnamese and Foreigners) to help kids from poverty to have a real jobs. Many of them find success after 3 years training.

Very busy place full of Western tourists, we haven't seen any local guest. Great selection of nice meals, both Western and local. Good wine list. Very good service, nice English speaking staff. Prices OK for tourists although for Vietnam rather high. For sure one of the best restaurants we were in town, we will come again.

We enjoyed a lovely meal at Koto whilst in Hanoi. Service was excellent as was the food. We had the set menu (as the meal was organised by our guide) and the portions were quite large. Would recommend a meal here (esp knowing that its background in terms of what the restaurant is trying to achieve).

The food we had here was incredible. Beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The staff were extremely eager and obliging even though they were inexperienced. A great concept and opportunity. This would have to be the best meal I've had in my time in Vietnam.

We had dinner at Koto restaurant in Hanoi opposite the Temple of Literature. Bothcthe food and the service were outstanding. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed a three course dinner at very reasonable cost which turned out to be the best food we had in our two weeks in Vietnam. And the resraurant is an enterprise to help underprivileged young people get... One of the best restaurants we visited in Hanoi. We were seated at second floor which was much more quiet than ground floor. Both food and service were great. A bit more expensive than other places, but not much. Absolutely a place to recommend.

The KOTO cooking class in Hanoi was as delicious as the food in the restaurant itself! It was highly organised and professional. The selected dishes were must have’s in your recipe book and perfectly capture the essence of the Vietnamese cuisine. The class was diverse in offering knowledge about the foods, skills in preparation, helpful tips and hints and more... More
