The coffee shop is a bit hidden, but if you find the way upstairs, then you have a great view on the lake.

Amazing Coffee egg A great drink. I enjoyed it for the first time and would like it very much. Friendly staff, reasonable price.

Don’t bother ordering anything else but their specialty egg coffee. It comes with the most wonderful meringue-y topping with dark and bitter coffee. Start by spooning some of the egg into your mouth and then gradually mixing it with the coffee. It’s just the best...combo! There are complaints of people feeling ill after, however in somewhere like Vietnam it’s hard to pin point it on one place when food hygiene often isn’t up to European standards. Also a nice people watching spot over the lake, or a well ventilated inside space with lovely staff.More

We went here for a little break and it felt like a different world. We found it from a back alley where we had no clue what to expect but it was lovely. You have to try the Egg Coffee, it's a speciality and it...was delicious!More

What an improvisation of the coffee. Attractive to look at and tasty to savour it. The view of the lake from the balcony of the cafe is simply serene. Highly recommended for all coffee enthusiasts and it is worth a try for all the non-coffee...drinkers. Not to be missedMore

Stopped here for a nice coffee on our first day in Hanoi and the place seemed quite nice, if a little interesting to get to. Unfortunately, we ordered the egg coffee and me and my girlfriend spent the rest of the day in the toilet....My girlfriend is Chinese and I am fairly well travelled , so I have come to expect some sickness when travelling , but having not eaten anything earlier that day and the fact we both got sick clearly points to the egg coffee. A good view from the place though.More

In the middle of the busy streets in Hanoi, Hanoi Time Café chooses a little ancient style for decorations and architecture. On the way through an old stair, you will encounter ancient brick walls, some of which painted a picture of Hanoi. Although a little...bit hard to find, your discovery will worth the effort and every penny spent in this location. When you reach the main floor, the cozy and tranquil room is easily the most striking feature of the café. It is a perfect place to enjoy the excellent drinks, especially coffee, mocktail, and foods when contemplating the beautiful scene of the lake. Adding with fast service and reasonable price, Hanoi Time Café may be a fitting choice for many tourists during their travel to Vietnam.More

Very nice place with a good view of the lake. Egg coffee is about as good as the best available. Good place to relax.

Very neat little place that serves amazing egg coffee and a myriad of other drinks and snacks. They are great for teens and kids, as they can customize everything. The entrance is the best part... don't be intimidated as you push past people's laundry that...is out to dry and the circuit breaker panel directly wired to a drier. Egg coffee goes like this: they crack a couple of eggs into a cup, separate out the yolks. They beat the yolks with sugar until it becomes like a custard. This thick, foamy pillow is then set on top of a pool of the blackest, most potent espresso that can be imagined. The entire thing is encased in a dainty glass cup. The mixture is thick enough to suspend the weight of a spoon, and it's as rich as a liquid muffin. I've never had anything like it, and I miss it deeply.More
