Wandered past and was lured in by the name. I was surprised by the extensive beer list. From fairly cheap local beers to pricier imports. You can drink for cheaper in Hanoi but you won’t be as comfortable

Very good range of craft beers, including local ones. Prices verging towards Western but that was OK. Fairly quiet both times we went there. We ate the second time - menu tends towards Western-style carbs, but that suited us. Would go again.
New Gentry has a very upmarket feel. The service was fantastic, with a great range of craft and European beers available. Unfortunately, it's easy to miss on the street. I was searching for it and nearly walked past it! The drinks are accompanied by a...fantastic gourmet snack menu with surprisingly affordable prices. Other than that, there really isn’t much more to say, New Gentry is a great little spot to escape the hustle and bustle of Old Quarter.More
If you're simply looking for a place to try a variety of local Hanoi and Vietnamese beers, then New Gentry Beerhouse checks the box. If you want a fun bar atmosphere with a variety of pub food, there are other places that check those boxes....I had the cuban sandwich and it was OK but seemed hastily slapped together in the kitchen and didn't have the craft and creativity common of Western brewpubs, especially in the modern craft beer era. Still, if you're just looking for a cold beer to escape the Hanoi heat, then this isn't a bad spot.More
As you'd expect, lots of beer variety, but also a couple of ciders and ginger beer available. Staff very friendly too.
We felt like trying something else and popped into New Gentry for a craft beer. The selection is great especially for locally crafted beers and ciders (they do Belgian, Dutch, Mexican etc also but that obvs wasn’t the reason we were there). Prices are higher...than your regular Bia Hoi half a pint but you get to experience a modern twist on vietnam’s Beer culture which for us was pretty cool.More
Really liked this place. The prices were reasonable but the atmosphere was very ambient. I liked the choice of music playing on both nights we went, and the food we chose was also tasty. I don't like the fact people can smoke inside, but this...is Vietnam so expect it. As someone who does't even like beer ( I like cider) it was a pleasantly surprised. A really good spot to visit.More
A fantastic bar with a great selection of imported and local craft beers and ciders! Small and cosy bar with attentive staff.
Very impressive beer selection. I recommend trying the Vietnamese beers, called Dante's Inferno and from North to South, quite strong and flavorful. Only problem with this place is that they don't serve food until 5:00 PM so a lunch time beer is just that, beer...with no food on offer.More
Small place but big on air conditioning which was really really awesome given the warmness of June. We tried their local brews and it was alright. Had a young working crowd vibe
