We grabbed a coffee at La Place and I crayoned the new gothic cathedral St. Josephs on our table paper cloth (they encouraged it, this wasn’t my attempt at middle class graffiti). The best thing is the view...

Ate in this spot twice today. Food was excellent. Very tasty and decent portions. Sit on the balcony overlooking the church if you can.

We had lunch there and took La Place hamburger and pasta carbonara. The burger was somewhat a disappointment. Just the beef, tomato and salad on a bun. It had no sauce or mayo in it, only ketchup on the side for the fries. The fries were cold. The carbonara on the other hand was creamy and delicious. Also pasta bolognese... More

One of the most enjoyable dinners we had in Hanoi. Good food at very affordable prices and we could watch the Christmas show at the cathedral across the street from our table. Think the main reason why this restaurant stands out in my mind is because it was just a bit less claustrophobic than many of the others we visited... More

Decent enough affordable food (Hanoi fish speciality Cha Ca, for papaya salad, a huge fried rice and burgers for the teen-adults), and a great view of the happenings down in cathedral square. Make sure you get a balcony seat as inside is a little more mundane.

I ate fried rice with vegetables and compared to elsewhere in Vietnam I think it was quite a boring version of the same. Some of it were quite dry and the vegetables didnt seem to be fresh. Good thing though were that it had open quite late in the evening and that we could get all information in english. Also,... More

On the square facing a run-down cathedral, the restaurant occupies one narrow building and is situated on 2-3 floors. There is one restroom in the back of the ground floor. The tiled staircase winds its way up past several rooms used for dining. We chose the highest level, in a covered but un-walled section in the back without the cathedral... More

The view from the balcony is amazing. We enjoyed a Vietnamese coffee here this morning and were very happy. The coffee is delicious but a little expensive, however the view is great!
