One of the most expensive Western restaurants I've ever been to and enjoyed. The Nordic food menu is extremely diverse, including ordering by portion or individual dishes. We got to try a lot of strange dishes that we have never tried before. When the wait staff brought it out, they fully introduced the name of the dish and even the main ingredients of the dish. Each dish is served in a fairly small quantity, we came here to determine this in advance and the price is also very luxurious. Professional and polite service staff, luxurious space.

I have been to this restaurant since attracted by reviews. I must say that what I tasted was partly amazing, partly normal. There are some things that, perhaps out of Italian habit and not only, did not convince me so much, like the fact that wine and water are not left at the table, but the waiter, every time he sees the empty glass comes with the bottle and pours what you need. Too bad that the white wine we chose arrived at the right temperature only at the end from dinner!
That said:
- pros: environment and dishes, some dishes with exclusive taste, attentive service, but not too much;
- cons: drinks not left available to diners, some dishes with a bit 'flat flavor, price in my opinion not justified compared to the offer and prices of the place (although I understand it is a high-end restaurant), the waiter who once outside the room (right on the street), asks which dishes were liked more and which ones you liked less ... even today I do not understand why these questions are asked outside the restaurant.
Otherwise, would I come back? Safe not.

Giving T.U.N.G. Dining anything less than five stars is a travesty and does a disservice to creative cooking. Listen, I’m 74, was part owner of three restaurants, and have dined at the culinary temples of the world including many three star Michelin restaurants. T.U.N.G Dining is on par with most of them.
Our 17 dishes tickled our senses of smell, taste, and sight. The culinary journey was a trip to Wonderland and Oz. The photos tell part of the story, but everything also tasted delicious.
Service was charming and helpful, and everyone displayed pride in what they were serving. Pricing is extremely high for Vietnam, coming to around $280 for two including tax and tip. T.U.N.G. Dining is worth every penny.

This was a miss for us. First, they increased the price after we made our reservation and upon asking for the price for which we booked dinner they said no they could not do that. Second my husband asked for the seafood to be cooked and several courses came with raw and undercooked seafood despite repeated requests and feedback. Third I asked for mine to be slightly more cooked (mine was raw for most) and then they cooked the tiny piece of beef to a well done crisp. Fourth the restaurant temperature was hot and despite several requests to turn the air conditioning on and up - they did but it remained hot. Fifth, there were several gnats flying around. Sixth there were giant mounds of garbage outside (not their fault but did not help with the ambiance). Seventh we did not particularly like the flavor profiles of the food. Eighth, the wine was not great, limited and overpriced. I was shocked when I saw Barefoot wine on their menu for about $40. This is the worst wine from my perspective and maybe about $6 in the US. Ninth, when I asked for a reduction in the price for the conditions and problems with cooking the food, we were given a complimentary glass of wine with no other discount: After several requests, our drinks were comped (we initially only had a glass of wine and tea). This seemed insufficient given our experience and the high price of the meal. Finally we were given 10% off the food- which was by the way about the price that we initially booked the reservation that they would not honor. For a meal that is over $100 per person, this is not the setting, food, or preparation we would expect. It was quite beautiful and the service was otherwise good but that is not enough. The price is especially notable given the very low prices of eating out in Vietnam.

It’s hard for a restaurant when you arrive with such high expectations and such it was that with T.U.N.G I left disappointed. Being a foodie I was attracted to its Michelin credentials and the storey it tells on its website and repeated in Lonely Planet and other sites. I thought what a great opportunity for a Michelin experience at Vietnam prices. However the food, while certainly excellent quality and creative, was not amazing and the price was exorbitant given this was in Vietnam.
With 20 courses in the set menu, most dishes were a single mouthful, and while beautifully presented, lacked an explosion of flavour that I think you need when you have just one mouthful. Or in the case of the steak dish, it was delicious, but I wanted another bite. So every dish was either pretty but lacking, or simply not enough to be able to savour and enjoy.
Also strange was the drinks on offer. No cocktails. Seems unusual in a high end restaurant and how I normally love to start a fine dining experience. Also no beers by the glass/bottle. Maybe they are available but I didn’t see them on the menu and didn’t ask as instead I opted for the beer pairing, as I love a beer and being in Vietnam, this seemed to make sense. But it was frustrating that I could not get a drink when I sat down and instead had to wait until it was deemed the time to be served. Then plead to get my glass refilled when it was empty which was frequent during the experience, even being rebuffed a drink at one point as I was informed there was a break for palette cleansing.
I am being very picky here. But at a cost of VND7,000,000 for two people with only one drinking and only beer it is very expensive for Vietnam and I can expect more. Charging extra for still water when the set menu is VND2,450,000 just doesn’t seem right to me. And VND750,000 for beer pairing when a beer in a restaurant costs max VND50,000 is just not good value especially when you have to beg for a refill.
One strange situation at the end was that they said they were having trouble with the WiFi and couldn’t take credit card. I pointed out that I didn’t carry that sort of cash on me and that they were going to have to fix it. Somehow, miraculously, they did and I’m left wondering did they really have a problem or are they just trying to get customers to pay cash and pocket the considerable taxes that were added to my bill and not factored into my budget for the experience.
The venue was pretty and the staff very friendly and attentive but overall I would not go back and cannot recommend T.U.N.G for the cost.

There were three of us in the restaurant. The reservation was made online and after paying the deposit (500K VND per person, about 20 EUR) the appointment was confirmed. The staff were extremely friendly and the rooms were attractive. The tasting menu with 16 courses ended up costing 2.5 million VND per person plus 8-11% VAT and 7% service charge. A bargain by European standards.
The courses were not always creative, but the execution was flawless. They combine Vietnamese/Asian dishes with European dishes. I don't want to give away any more, but the presentation and surprise are worth a visit.
I didn't look at the wine list. Water, wine or juice are offered. In the end, juice meant kombucha.

I have visited both Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi T.U.N.G Restaurant at intervals of a week. The Ho Chi Minh is much better in terms of the building, atmosphere and the service in every way.
However, seems to me both restaurant does not have experienced service Manager or staff only many young staff who are working hard, but due to lack of experience, they always sure move around the hall restlessly, so the restaurant is not calm. In addition, despite the dress code, the Hanoi store’s customers were wearing T-shirts and shorts who makes the atmosphere of the restaurant as same as street ones. Food was good but was a little bit too much for us.
I am sure the chef has good skills but if he is aiming to make five star Restaurant( asking price is already 5Stars+Michelin ). He sure needs to have good experienced service staff who know the service.
T.U..N.G Restaurant was way lower than what we expected other than the price, I just could not understand how they get a Michelin star ?

This is a great restaurant for special occasions, or when you want an innovative gastronomic experience.
I had been worried about having a very lengthy meal, given the number of courses in the fixed menu. However, I was pleasantly surprised that apart from the main courses, the smaller dishes were served in twos or threes and owing to this and the fact the restaurant is well-staffed, there were no long gaps between courses, which can become tedious.
Several of the courses were spectacularly good, with highly unusual and innovative taste and texture combinations. The small illustrated cards that were provided for each course, were a much appreciated touch and a great addition to the overall experience.
We took the wine pairing menu for an additional VND 1 million/head and whilst we certainly enjoyed the wines, felt the lack of any aged wines in the selection. Our total bill for 2 fixed menus plus wine pairing came to VND13,096,800 (note: tax on alcohol consumption is high in Vietnam). I consider this very reasonable for the quality of the food and wine and the overall experience.

Great experience to get acquainted with modern Vietnamese cuisine! Service is also fantastic, although English is a bit difficult. You get about 20 dishes at a rather fast pace, but it works at this pace because there are also small snacks. The sauces are delicious!
It is a pity that the price for a menu is much more than stated on the menu. It only says in small letters at the bottom that there is a surcharge for VAT and service, which makes it 20% more expensive.

There is hair in the dessert, it was a very bad dining experience. The first element of food is safety and hygiene. It is not recommended to choose fine dining in Hanoi, and hotel restaurants are more reliable. After the problem occurred, the waiter only apologized and changed the food, and the chef did not even apologize, which does not meet the standards of Michelin restaurants.

If you're looking for a stand-out meal in Hanoi, this isn't it. The 20+ course menu consisted of a few good dishes, and the rest felt like fillers. The menu is (I'm assuming) deliberately vague, the waiters explain the dishes to you very briefly through masks and then you're left with a card which only discusses one of the ingredients so it's hard to know what you're tasting. The ingredients are not locally sourced. The best dish by far was the take on Vietnamese pho. In my opinion, fewer courses and more Vietnamese focused would have produced a far better meal - especially for the cost. The beer pairing was 4 very small glasses of beer, you don't even get the bottle. None of the meal was worth the money.

Exceptional!
Everything was marvellous from the moment we arrived. We were welcomed warmly and the evening just got better and better.
We were informed of the ethos and loved the cards describing the local ingredients at each course. It was all delicious and the evening flew by. My husband was particularly impressed by the beer pairing - a refreshing change.
We would highly recommend visiting - each course was stunning and the service was amazing in a relaxed atmosphere. As we left we were asked if we could pick a favourite - we couldn’t! It was all fabulous.

Excellent gastronomical experience, nice ambience and friendly staff made our Christmas Eve dinner so much more enjoyable. A 19-course dinner was served on Christmas Eve. Not the usual Christmas dishes like turkey and ham which have been a put off, the chef stuck to his original creations. Except for the quail which was a little gamey and chewy, rest of his creative dishes were on point. We were served by Quan who is friendly, helpful and humorous at times. The restaurant was packed, some patrons seem to be regular and came in large boisterous groups. However seating is quite limited and you’ll be advised to make reservations in advance. This is one place we’d plan to come back again.
