Overall, I had an enjoyable birthday dinner with my family member here. The overall atmosphere was cozy; and the staff were very polite. I had the Fusion menu: main courses were sensational. I was especially delighted by the pistachio scoop of ice-cream for dessert; I've...never tasted something quite like that in my life. Well treated with a birthday lemon tart delivered by executive chef, who greeted me as mademoiselle. Lovely! Would love to come back again for lunches or special meals.More

To find a Dignified contender for a Michelin star Restaurant in an alley of Hanoi is quite a surprise. A delightful one. Starting with the amouse bouche and smiling through the elegant lasagne with scallops the dining experience sound track is all hum and goshes,...smiles and winks. Delightful presentation, harmonious and surprising flavors, friendly and un intrusive service, we just wished to be more hungry to have more fun. A fresh uncomplicated Italian Chardonnay complimented the show of the fish duo in saffron emulsion. Reasonably priced, given the overall quality. Bravo!More

Our family of 3 dined at La Badiene on 29th February. The location is on a narrow street and opposite a popular chicken pho restaurant which adds to the bustle outside La Badiene. Guests will be led to the dining area and are able to...view the activity in the kitchen through the huge glass partition. Mind you, there are a lot of kitchen staff working at frantic pace. The restaurant was full that nite. The atmosphere was quite casual. There is no need to be overdressed. We chose the 4 course set meal and were very pleased with the quality - taste, presentation. Chef Benjamin Rascalou has been in Vietnam for 20 years. We like his fusion of flavours on top of the french base cuisine by adding asian ingredients. Chef Benjamin makes it a point to interact with the diners which makes the dining experience warmer. Staff service is commendable. The bill was reasonable inclusive of a bottle of red wine. Not forgeting, diners were entertained to pleasant music by a string quartet ensemble ( violins and cello). The restaurant staff will assist to order a taxi or Grab service for one to return to the hotel after dinner.More

Had dinner here with my family. As we weren't hungry, we ordered a set, goose steak, kid's meal (pasta) and vegan pasta. The chef provided us free bread and starters, both which were delicious. The best tasting dish was the goose steak (highly recommended). The...soup (part of the starter) was great too. The pasta was too overpowering though, and my daughter didn't like it. Portioning is not large but typical of French fine dining. We ordered roughly for 3 adults + 1 kid (no liquor as we don't drink) and the bill came up to VND 3 million. For a fine dining restaurant, their service could be improved. It wasn't bad per se, but clinical and cold.More

La Badiane Restaurant was recommended by our local Vietnamese tour agent. Our group was a family of 10. We thoroughly enjoyed the authentic French food that we ordered individually. We also ordered a bottle of Cicada wine which was nice and reasonably priced. We would...definitely book this restaurant again at our next visit.More

My family and I visited this restaurant after seeing numerous reviews online praising the quality and the variety that this restaurant had to offer. It was even listed in our hotel's top recommendations for food in Hanoi so we were very excited to go. While...the price of the food was comparable to that of other high-end restaurants, the quality of the food was far lower than what we had expected from a restaurant with such merit. I ordered the dinner set and was quite pleased with the taste. However, less than four hours after returning to the hotel, I was hunched over the toilet throughout the night as I suffered from food poisoning from dinner that evening and didn't recover until two days later, on Christmas Day. After contacting the receptionists at the restaurant and being put in touch with the owner, he asked me to talk to the chef, I was quickly dismissed as they claimed to have never had any cases of food poisoning and that I should find a doctor, not even say it was Chritmas day. It was Incredibly awful and disappointed experience.More

One of the most renown French restaurants in Hanoi famed for its fusion gourmet dishes. An 8 time hall of game trip advisor winner (2011-18) with an award in 2019. Worth a visit if you are interested in French cuisine. However, this is not for...everybody as the culinary techniques include a little molecular “chemistry”...flavours are subtle and complex. The chefs have put a lot of efforts into perfecting their craft and creating art in the process. You pay for the highly artistic gourmet cooking. We ordered the beef steak, lamb shank, veal, risotto and raw beef entree. The recommended dishes are beef steak and the raw beef entree. Preparation time for meals takes a while but the ambience is pleasant and a bottle of wine with warm bread and great company keeps you occupied. Overall, we rate the food as above average, service is excellent but the meals are really very pricey.More
