I went there with my family. We had the menu degustation which was amazing. My brother chooses a la carte and the portion was good as well. Violinists make the atmosphere very relax.

We had the scallops and duck breast. They were well prepared and delicious. Dinner including two appetizers, two mains, two glasses of wine and a dessert came out to ~$125 USD which would be reasonable back home, but quite expensive for Hanoi. Also while the dinner was delicious, I would not say it's the best French dinner I've ever had.... More

Fancy place, gorgeous decors for the dishes. Exotic taste, but didn't leave a big impression on us, and we felt like we could get better food within the same price range in other places in town.

Beautiful restaurant and great French food. We were being serenaded by a violin quartet. You would have thought you were in France. Excellent food, service and entertainment.

We went for the degustation menu and every course was sublime. I loved the foie gras particularly. Was just a wonderful evening with excellent service.

Was here for dinner. Ordered the course meal that came with Starter, Appetizer, Main Course and Dessert. Enjoyed the flavours and presentation of the food. Service can be improved but overall was an enjoyable experience.

Thanks to various recommendations on TripAdvisor we had lunch here today. Amazing meal - enjoyed every mouthful. Great service without being intrusive. It is pricey compared to local places but well worth every cent. If we were staying longer we'd go there again but sadly we leave tomorrow.

As recommended by the guide provided by the hotel . I love the design and quality of food. It worth the price as compare to cities in HK. However, in terms of the standard of Hanoi, i belive it is a bit overpriced.

After my last somewhat disappointed review I visited La Badiane again recently and found it a far more enjoyable experience. Being in the downstairs dining room was a totally different experience than the upstairs rooms. I took a family party and made sure to reserve a table downstairs and found that the service and atmosphere were a different level. The... More

Created in December, 2008, by three French friends, Minh Spielmann, Benjamin Rascalou & Anthony Balenci, La Badiane -French for the Star Anise spice- is heralding its claim to be one of the best restaurants in Vietnam dedicated to fusion of flavors and international gastronomy.

Surrounded by harmonious leaf plants, & walls predominantly white alternating with carefully chosen vivid colors, the place provides for a true feeling of calm and elegance, which gathers the best conditions to let your senses express themselves.

When coming in, an open-sky corridor planted with luxuriant vegetation leads you towards the heart of the restaurant. One’s attention will be instantly caught by the multitude of perfumes & aromas flowing out of the open front kitchen.

Then, depending on your mood & weather permitting, you can have your meal in the airy Patio, calm, convivial & surrounded by photographic art works. For a more intimate setting with warm colors you can choose one of the three air-conditioned rooms located between the ground and the first floor.

At la Badiane, all is about food but there’s also great attention paid to the service and the overall atmosphere, so that we make sure you enjoy every aspect of your meal. La Badiane, top 500 Restaurants in Asia by Miele Guide and “Certificate of Excellence” by Trip Advisor in 3 consecutive years 2012, 2013 and 2014 will never fail to satisfy you. Moreover, at this very same “picky” travel community, there were more than 300 upvotes as “EXCELLENT” for La Badiane – a formidable rating which can only be seen for top-end restaurants.
