As recommended by the guide provided by the hotel . I love the design and quality of food. It worth the price as compare to cities in HK. However, in terms of the standard of Hanoi, i belive it is a bit overpriced.

After my last somewhat disappointed review I visited La Badiane again recently and found it a far more enjoyable experience. Being in the downstairs dining room was a totally different experience than the upstairs rooms. I took a family party and made sure to reserve a table downstairs and found that the service and atmosphere were a different level. The... More

Good food and nice service. The menu offers limited options and the plates are well presented. Very good live classical music, which I gives a very nice touch. It was a surprise that if you pay with a credit card, you will be charched the interchange fee, which I considered inaceptable because of the high prices.

For the price we paid, I would have expected a much nicer environment (just have a look at the restroom... dirty and smelly) and service (staff not well trained). Food overall was good and well presented. But not all as fine as expected, especially the cheese spring roll and dessert.

Just got back to our hotel room to write about this gorgeous French restaurant. Like our Hotel, is out of this world. Vincent looked after us. Food just melt in your mouth with beautiful different tasting herbs and vegetables. My tuna was done to perfection. Steak just melted in your mouth. So tender...and well my birthday cake was to DIE... More

I have two choices while I want to have a French meal in Hanoi. I chose La Badiane between JW since many comments are this is the best French restaurant and the price are reasonable. The location is not very good. But the place is nice. Good for couples. We had a 6 course and two a la cart menu... More

Got the table reserved by hotel concierge when first arrived, the staff were warm, ordered the special set lunch , it was good and beautifully made . Did not have wine that day as previous night had too much wine at Sofitel

Very good food. Nice atmosphere, if a bit warm. Great service. Typical of upscale fancy places, the portions are smallish and the prices are largish but the quality is very high. Normal your normal family fare but well thought out and creative dishes. I would go back. I might not choose the gastronomy 6 course meal next time but I... More

Attended La Badiane on a quiet night but had a very enjoyable dinner. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful in choosing meals and wine. The food was very nicely presented and very tasty. Would recommend this restaurant for a couple looking for an enjoyable evening that's not over the top in terms of pricing.

Visited this restaurant many times and I used to recommended it for all of my friend as the best French restaurant in Hanoi. But I got totally disappointed !! Yesterday 10th Sep I came for my sister birthday and it was the first time we tried the set menu. The restaurant wasn't full but service is extremely slow. We waited... More

Description
Created in December, 2008, by three French friends, Minh Spielmann, Benjamin Rascalou & Anthony Balenci, La Badiane -French for the Star Anise spice- is heralding its claim to be one of the best restaurants in Vietnam dedicated to fusion of flavors and international gastronomy.

Surrounded by harmonious leaf plants, & walls predominantly white alternating with carefully chosen vivid colors, the place provides for a true feeling of calm and elegance, which gathers the best conditions to let your senses express themselves.

When coming in, an open-sky corridor planted with luxuriant vegetation leads you towards the heart of the restaurant. One’s attention will be instantly caught by the multitude of perfumes & aromas flowing out of the open front kitchen.

Then, depending on your mood & weather permitting, you can have your meal in the airy Patio, calm, convivial & surrounded by photographic art works. For a more intimate setting with warm colors you can choose one of the three air-conditioned rooms located between the ground and the first floor.

At la Badiane, all is about food but there’s also great attention paid to the service and the overall atmosphere, so that we make sure you enjoy every aspect of your meal. La Badiane, top 500 Restaurants in Asia by Miele Guide and “Certificate of Excellence” by Trip Advisor in 3 consecutive years 2012, 2013 and 2014 will never fail to satisfy you. Moreover, at this very same “picky” travel community, there were more than 300 upvotes as “EXCELLENT” for La Badiane – a formidable rating which can only be seen for top-end restaurants.
