This restaurant is located in a distinguished French villa. Were were with a party of four and the only guests. Rich people pay a lot to dine in a quiet atmosphere and so did we because it was pretty expensive. Nevertheless we enjoyed our three...course dinner as well as the excellent wine. No reservation needed.More

We went to celebrate my boyfriend birthday. The restaurant has a great wine list and the food was average. We expected the food was great but just average. The service was good. I informed the restaurant prior to come that today was my Boyfriend’s birthday...and was told that I need to order a dessert and they will arrange the candle etc. A restaurant like this high end you expect that they will take care of the surprised dessert for special occasion. Great building and very nice deco with a cozy fire place.More

In behind a normal Hanoi street food street and down a lane uncovers this oasis of 5 star dining with the biggest wine list I’ve ever seen. This is opulence and dining at the top level. The Food Wine and Cocktails were incredible and the...staff on point. Not the place to go for a cheap meal but by god for a special occasion it delivers on all levels. SpectacularMore

A simply lovely experience. Set in a formerly private house in the French colonial style, The Clover boasts perhaps the best wine selection in Hanoi. We took advice from their sommelier on what wine to have with each course, and every selection was wonderful. If...you are looking for great food and wine in intimate and beautiful surroundings, look no further.More

I am sorry to say that after seeing so many positive reviews on the web, I was disappointed of the restaurant after trying it few days ago. My girlfriend and I had 1 of the 2.4 million sets each (one emphasize on meats and one...emphasize on seafood). The presentation was good at the first sight. Nevertheless, the style and taste are almost the same for every dishes. The main differences to us were more of just merely changing the protein across the menu. Service-wise, even though it was a slow night with only 2 tables on the 1st floor, we had a hard time getting server's attention and no one bothered to solicit any feedback after the meal. Also the dishes came out slower than normal, so maybe it is a good idea to budget more time for travelling to the restaurant (as it is not in city center) and preparing for the slow pace of food. Despite its good reputation and reviews, I am afraid that I would not be returning for a second try.More

I love Clover, partly because the food is so fresh and delicious, and partly because the space is so beautiful and the service if fantastic.

Expected so much from this place and I have to say my family and I are all very happy with the dining experience. The restaurant is situated in a graceful French-colonial style building (which hit me hard just by the first look at it), and...its interior is also beautifully decorated. The lunch menu was updated a few days ago and we were satisfied with the options. As a huge fan of beef carpaccio I really could not ask for more, and the sauce went really well with the cod, though it is a little overdone for me. For the dessert I do not find mango a perfect match with pana-cotta so it was quite of a surprise to see them put together, but it was okay. Forgot what the wine was but definitely a good suggestion from my server as it was the match with both courses. Overall I would say the experience is really worth the money. If I ever visit Hanoi again, I would surely come back for dinner.More

Having a short 4 day stay in Hanoi this time, I chose to sample a variety of western cuisine for dinner as I usually have local Vietnamese food for lunch... Tonight was a memorable night with good food and a nice chat with the Sommelier......The menu at the Clover is more classic fare rather than anything fusion or modern... which is what I prefer... Although tonight was a very quiet night at the restaurant, with me being the only table sitting inside, I did not feel at all lonely as the staff and sommelier came by occasionally and checked on how the meal was... I ordered the fois gras and rabbit leg finishing the meal with a souffle... Fois gras was a slight over cooked while the lapin was absolutely tender with the side vegies quite filling... the souffle was a bit soggy on the bottom but overall a nice dessert... Paired with a nice bottle of wine... and I can't complain at all... very nice and pleasant evening...More

We went for a Saturday lunch, and were spoiled by great service and the fantastic setting. The food was high end and included some interesting choices. My one suggestion would be to have a couple more meat free options.More
