After reading positive reviews, I went there for a early dinner looking for some delicious local food. The food there ain't bad, but I will regard it as somewhat standard and definitely won't drop by again unless I'm passing through that road. We hv a beef noodle salad (it's a warm salad and taste ok), pork sausage (recommend) and sour... More

Located close to the old quarter of Hanoi is this funky sounding café which serves rice vermicelli mixed with cabbage, pickled papaya, fried shallots and topped with deliciously amazing quick-fried beef with garlic. Worth visiting especially after walking around the Lake and exploring this part of town.

After reading all those positive reviews, I decided to go there for an early dinner. Food was.. ok, but for that price portions could be bigger. I was still feeling hungry after finishing.

Our hotel (Golden Sun Suites) recommended this place as it's a short walk away. I read about this Southern Vietnamese dish on a blog. This place was busy when we arrived for lunch, with a constant stream of diners. Such an authentic experience of delicious street food. The service is what you would expect for a joint like this -... After a Google on where to eat in Hanoi I found this place. Decided to go solo as my travel companion was ill - so glad I did! It was one of the best things I've eaten in Vietnam, it's unlike the traditional Pho that's everywhere: less soup, more goodies. Citrusy, Sour and Sweet, Light and packed with flavour. The... More

I tried the Bún Bò Nam Bô and it was very delicious- extremely filling, yet light and nothing like anything else.

Walked past here after having dinner and saw the entire placed packed to the brim and at the same time saw a couple leave their seats. On impulse, my girlfriend and I decided to just pop in and share a bowl between ourselves. My God what an amazing idea that turned out to be. This beef noodle salad was INCREDIBLE.... More

I have come to this restaurant more than 20 times of my life and I always happy with the food hear. Serving very simple and flexible style, Bun Bo was great taste as 10 years ago and the price is not change much. Experience the best local food with only $2.5 is really good choice for all.

This place is fabulous! We have already been twice in 2 days, beef noodle salad is to the best. Only couple of items on menu but they have mastered it!

Description
Bun bo Nam Bo is marinating the beef, then comes making 'nuoc cham' and the pickled vegetables (shredded carrot and papaya). The pickled vegies is crispy, a little sour and a little sweet, which even makes me eat two bowls of the noodle at once. Remember to pickle the carrot (and papaya first, before marinating the beef) since it takes at least 1 hour to get a good flavor on the carrot.
