I LOVE food. I don't eat to live, I live to eat if you get the picture. Tonight my best friend and I set off for a gastronomical experience at the highly rated Wild Lotus restaurant. Staff at our hotel kindly made a reservation for us but they couldn't fit us in until 9pm. We arrived at 9 to a... More

Just back from dinner there this evening. The only debate at dinner was whether this was the poorest meal we had in Vietnam (the cafe at the Noble House in Cat Ba took the prize but it was about one tenth of the price). Had the fishcakes and cashew prawns as starters; both very uninteresting, although the salad with the... More

Went to Wild Lotus on the recommendation of an expat business contact based in Vietnam and were glad we did. The restaurant has fantastic decor and ambience compared to most in Hanoi. The service was, by Hanoi standards, definitely on the good side. The food as I was told was essentially modern Vietnamese so if you are after the full... More

I went to this restaurant on the advice of my travel guidebook. It was indeed neat to be able to get a multi-course tasting menu for less than $30. The restaurant is very hip and pretty. The food, in terms of taste and appearance, was just so-so (I am from NYC so have high food standards; perhaps if you have... More

Four of us had dinner at Wild Lotus on our last night in Vietnam, which was also my husband's and my anniversary. The food was excellent, the service very good and the ambience and decor absolutely lovely. All four of us agreed that this was a terrific choice and it left a lovely impression. I would recommend this restaurant without... More

I was taken there by my daughter who did not warn me it was a posh place. But no-one turned a hair when I walked in wearing dirty tennis shoes and feeling a wreck as I had just put a foot into one of the pools in the entrance filled with floating water lillies. So my shoe looked even dirtier.... More

Expensive by Vietnamese standards but overall a very impressive restaurant, with an equally impressive wine list. Great services would highly recommend, Cost US $110 for 4 of us with Wine. Roughly 1/3 of the price of our similar meal at the Metropole.

I have eaten here twice in the past year while in Hanoi. The decor is exquisite, the food amazing. The best rendering of traditional dishes I have eaten in Vietnam.
