Service was terrific, prices were quite steep and the room was not quite as charming as I would have expected. The food itself was disappointing. Had the lower tier western tasing menu - and the beef was overdone and tasteless. Other dishes were well executed.

After recommendations from our guide, tour company, and hotel, I was expecting a great evening. The first disappointment was that there was not a single local in the restaurant. It was all western tourists. The food was fairly average. The sense was that neither the decor, nor the menu had changed in quite a while. Service was very average. The... More

This is a lovely Hanoi restaurant in the French Quarter. We enjoyed a lunch there and returned for a dinner. Restaurant is beautiful and food -- basically Vietnamese with French accents -- is excellent. Excellent service. Prices were less than would have anticipated. Highest recommendations.

Did not see a single Vietnamese, all Europeans. Upstairs they cater to European tourist groups. The food is good, so is the wine. We were pleased with the service.

We took dinner in October on a booking made by the Metropole concierge. Located in an old colonial era building minutes walk from the hotel. Internally becoming a little tired - we were last here in 2013 and nothing much seems to have been refreshed. The 'meeter & greeter' could hardly be bothered to get up from her desk -... More

We had been recommended Ly club by usually reliable friends. Nice room, reasonable cocktails, staff initially polite and helpful. We had a good bottle of white Cote du Rhone, reasonably priced. My starter of Foie Gras was OK, but sauce a little gloopy. Wife's duck starter was rather thick chunks of duck, but OK Pumpkin soup was good. My veal... More

Food and service were good but best thing was the ambiance. You feel like you are stepping back in time. A bit on expensive side for Hanoi.

The Ly Club Restaurant is set in a beautiful colonial style building in the French Quarter in Hanoi. This restaurant offers upscale Vietnamese fusion style dishes. The restaurant interior design is very elegant. The food served covers a wide spectrum in tastes, and the wine list is comprehensive.

The food was great even if the bathroom facilities were a bit limited. Hey, all part of the ambiance. And speaking of ambiance, the decor was delightful and so was the neighborhood.
