We chose this restaurant for my birthday celebration dinner for myself & my partner and we had an extremely memorable experience. The food was wonderful, the wine list extensive and the staff were exceptional - friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The maitre'd went out of her way to make our night special after she discovered it was my birthday. They brought... More

For location in Hanoi it doesn't come much better than the Sofitel Metropole Hotel and Le Beaulieu is its flagship restaurant. Serving traditional French food, the menu is impressive and in principal there is a lot to like. Over the years I have eaten here twice before however, whilst ok, this ranks as the leafy impressive of the 3 visits.... More

We normally inhabit Le Club, or as we know it the Orangery, for lunches, but on one occasion we were invited to Le Beaulieu for brunch on my wife's birthday. I don't normally like the rather oppressive atmosphere of Le Beaulieu, preferring the windows and space of the Orangery, but hey, this was a free lunch. It was also inevitably... More

Probably the best and most expensive restaurant in Hanoi. This is the upscale restaurant of the beautiful Metropole hotel. Good food, excellent service and a nice winelist. Everything what you could expect. Not a very romantic or cosy restaurant, due to its size.

It was our first time visiting Hanoi and we had selected Le Beaulieu to pre-celebrate my husband's birthday. Everything there was simply marvellous, not to mention about the high quality food - special recommendation on the lobster bisque if u r a seafood lover! In particular we would like to thank Mr. Vu Xuan Thuong and Ms. Nguyen Kim Nhung... More

We arrived to Hanoi from Laos rather late so were not feeling like exploring too much for food so we got ourselves booked at Le Beaulieu. It was a really good experience - we had a tasting menu, which was nice. Particularly impressed with the asparagus and poached egg starter, was ingenious, fresh and with lots of textures. Very much... More

Nice ambience as expected when we made a reservation. After we were seated, we asked for food recommendation. The waiter proceeded to read to us almost the whole menu! We decided on the scallop for started and cod fish + beef tenderloin for mains. Scallops were yummy. Need heavenly. Cod fish disappointing - it tasted fishy & overlooked. The presentation... More

We travel to Hanoi every year, the Metropole a must visit, the Sunday brunch always amazing. This year we were so dissapointed. The food table set up had changed, pushed to the side instead of centered, one less table I think. Grandeur on a smaller scale with some things missing. The ambience, because of undisciplined Vietnamese children spoiled. The children running around and screaming, taking food from... More

Firstly , an apology for the lateness of this review . My husband suffered an accident whilst we were in Vietnam & that & other circumstances have meant reviews are very belated ! This restaurant situated in the Sofitel Metropole Legend is their #1 restaurant. Refurbished to a high standard this French style restaurant has an extensive menu & is... More

Renowned for its exquisite French cuisine - perfectly crafted in both flavour and presentation - multi-award winning Le Beaulieu has for over a century been the venue of dazzling soirees and sublime Sunday brunches. Wine connoisseurs will find pleasure in Le Beaulieu's impressive wine list featuring selections by our passionate Head Sommelier. One hundred years old like the hotel, this mythical dining destination frequented by war correspondents (Graham Greene, Lucien Bodart...) and also politicians, entrepreneurs and diplomats is directed by head chef Olivier. The decor is a unique Sofitel blend of Indochinese ambiance and French sophistication: marble and wooden parquet floors, large windows overlooking the street, soft breeze wafting from the ceiling fans, lit by chandeliers at nightfall... An exclusive selection of cigars and one of the finest wine cellars in Hanoi, housing over 100 grands crus, excellent champagne and vintage French and New World wines, a symbol of French heritage.
