The cover photo is old location, they keep jockeying two locations next to each other, Egyptian owner, nice fella, a bit shyish, place is very basic from chairs and tables to menu, good drink prices, especially for this area, opens 5; close to but very...much not the normal night bazaar vibe, o has live music/stageMore

There is some confusion, the cover photo here is of the iron bridge rest and bar, bus bar is next to it going inland from the river, bus bar has added even more busses, unassuming place offering basic food, cheap for this area which can...get pricy, pedestrians be very careful walking down the iron bridge to get here, dangerous, narrow, parking very very scarce*(mostly nonexistent) Gave it 4 stars for delivering what it purports to be, basic but quite okMore

Gone like the wind. Seems to have disappeared. Perhaps moved? They use to have nice music live. Now who knows?

An old bus, a band, food and drinks by the river. Very different and charming. There was a beautiful breeze the night we were there. Great music and atmosphere.

Good location. Food a little expensive but you are paying for the location. You get a great view of the river and the iron bridge. A large Chang was 85 Baht which is pretty good for the location. The food was mostly just over 100...Baht, which is a little pricey. They did give us ice to go with our cold beer. We were attacked by mosquitos so bring repellant but if you ask nicely the Bus bar will give you fre mossie repellant.More

My husband and I heard the music from a band playing and decided that even though we had already eaten our dinner, we would choose some light food and have a drink to be able to listen to the band. The band is BaanTuek Super...Boogie. They played songs from the 70s with delightful enthusiasm that engaged the audience. We swayed and applauded in between bites of the best onion rings ever! My mojito was perfect. The shrimp tempura was very good. We wanted some northern Thai foods but they were out. Next time we will go earlier. The wait staff are so nice. The lights on the iron bridge with reflections on the river made the night extra special. There were people standing on the bridge just listening to the music and one motorcycle rider stopped, listened through two songs until a truck came and he had to ride away. I was hoping he would turn around and come back to have a beer. If people enjoy the music, they should just pull in and have a beverage to support the Bus Bar. I think many would find this place an unusual and nice surprise.More

Bus Bar is located at river side with great view of the river and iron bridge. As its name implied, there is a big red bus which easily catch your eyes. In the evening, the iron bridge is colorfully lighted up. Very nice view with...reflection on the river water. Relaxing with good drinks and listening to the romantic oldies performed by a solo singer.More

There are so many good inexpensive restaurants to choose from in hundreds of places scattered all over the city. This one even though close to the tourist night market and hotels caters mostly to local Thais with a few tourists and ex pats. The dishes...served are mostly Thai such as deep fried fish, grilled pork and raw prawns in garlic and chilli. They also serve a large range of cocktails and cool Thai beers at a fair price. The dining area is plain and simple and as the name suggests there is a large double decker bus that you can eat on plus some excellent live music every night. When I was there the band played mostly 70’s American disco which was great fun. The restaurant is at the far end of Loy Kroh Road right on the banks of the Ping River near to the old Iron Bridge. One advisory is to bring some mosquito repellent as being next to the river seems to attract them. Overall another great place to eat out at a fair price in wonderful Chiang Mai.More
