This is a favorite lunch restaurant among local Japanese wives. Excellent quality food and reasonable prices. Menu is quite broad, the tekka don (sliced tuna on rice) is my personal favorite, but other dishes like tonkatsu (deep-fried breaded pork) and grilled mackerel are also good. It is located just outside moat in the old city. Street parking is tough, but... More

We had a myriad of dishes, great service, homely interior, and amazingly authentic food. Very satisfied with our meal. Onegaishemasu!

Every time we crave for Japanese homemade food, we come here. The restaurant is centrally located. Their tofu salad and daishi tofu are excellent. Tofu has a smooth, rich bean taste. Grilled Mackerel is our favourite. We had red bean desert from the house for New Year! A heart-warming gesture.

I recently visited this small Japanese restaurant which is on the second floor of a building not far from the center of Chiang Mai. First the bad: 1) the place was empty when we arrived (and had only one other group when we left; that's usually a bad sign for a restaurant); 2) they bring some appetizers and plop them... More

This is authentic Japanese restaurant close to Thapae Gate in the old town. Food and sake are tasty but not inexpensive. For more choices and small prices try MATSU at SInghat road

I've been to Japan before and the meal we had here was definitely on par with what I ate in Japan. The service was EXCELLENT- I had ordered an iced tea and the waitress kept coming to refill without even a look her way which really impressed me! The food was delicious and reasonably priced as well. We would definitely... More

We searched long and hard for an authentic Japanese restaurant in Chiang Mai, and this one fitted the bill. I read a review in another forum that the owners are Japanese and part Japanese. The food is home made, fresh and lovingly prepared and presented. We enjoyed two consecutive dinners there. The owner asked us where we are from because... More

They always serve the most authentic Japanese food here. Never disappointed. They really pay close attention to material and have a special route to acquire good veggie and fish. It is close to Thapea gate (one street up - Chiang Moi rd) , so it is worth trying if you are a tourist who likes Japanese cuisine. (only downside is... More
