Excellent food and beautiful playground! Since 2012 Nic's is serving Western European Cuisine and also homemade Italian Pizza. In 2018 Nic's added a new extra Thai Kitchen. Nic's was always open during the pandemic and still has the same chef, staff, cooks and owner! With the beautiful bamboo playground suitable for kids from 2-11 years Nic's is the first choice for family diners. Mostly international guests and many regulars from the surrounding private schools are the daily spirit in Nic's. Children's Birthday Parties take place in Nic's regular and are the heart of a lively foreign community south of Chiang Mai. Nic's has 58 tables in three different AC-rooms and five outdoor seating areas (with fan). Choose from 180 dishes made of healthy ingredients, with some options of gluten free & vegetarian. Nic's juices and smoothies are made of real fruits and organic honey is used. Nic's wine collection has more than twenty options from France, Italy, Spain. Big clean private parking.

I deeply honor Nic's restaurant owner who is willing to talk about his ingredients knowing he has aimed for organic whenever possible, and, eliminating cheap vegetable oils and so much more. Additionally, the owner has created a huge playground available for kids at any age. The restaurant is gigantic and First Class!

We feel very well in a happy and healthy community in Hang Dong. Thank you for your nice review. Nic's Team is very happy to see that our honest work and effort get honoured so much. We love our kids and families the same like we love a real farm grown New Zealand steak, a German soup made of own chopped vegetables, the Italian risottos served with real cheese and our every two hours fresh home baked French bread. Thank you again. Your five stars means a lot to us. It supports our motivation to keep this way going even it is a lot more work and effort needed to act like this.

We had heard that Nic's was good, but it exceeded all our expectations. It's fantastic for families, from every seat you can see your children playing in the large covered bamboo playground. Rounded off with an in-house football pitch and trampoline, Nic's offers more than many paid playgrounds.
The food was really fantastic: freshly breaded schnitzel, homemade gnocchi, freshly caught salmon, pizza like in Italy.
No wish was left unfulfilled that evening. Thank you very much for that.
We'll be happy to come back again and again.

A real highlight in Chiang Mai! The food is awesome – super delicious, fresh and really high quality. The freshly squeezed juices are a dream! But what really excited us: The children had a mega play paradise and were totally busy while we parents could sit relaxed, talk and enjoy the food. Perfect for those who want to eat something different and at the same time are looking for a relaxing time with the whole family. Absolutely top!

Thanks a lot Molly that you took the time to review us. We are happy about our nice restaurant. All the kids really love it. We are a restaurant with a lot of cooks and many kitchen helpers. Quite busy in our three kitchens that we run parallel. The Western food Chef kitchen, the Thai food and also our own Pizza Kitchen where we bake our own Bread and Burger Buns as well. That's why we ask for restaurant prices. It's more work than just a Cafe. Anyway, the playground is free for our little guests. That helps for the budget!

Ambiance and service is amazing- sitting in a air conditioned beautifully decorated glass box and watching my kids happily bouncing on the trampoline was a highlight. The western food was great - huge portions, cooked perfectly. Thai food was disappointing - noodles were over cooked and in general not very flavorful. All over we would definitely go back!

Hello Tanyah, thanks for the review. Yes we agree it is so great to enjoy a good food and see the kids being busy and happy for hours. Thank's that you love our Western Food. Sorry that you didn't like our Thai Food. We cook Central Thai Style, maybe that's different as you expected. We do run three different kitchens. In 2012 opened the Western Chef Kitchen. In 2017 we added the Thai Kitchen and since ever we have our Pizza Corner where we also bake our own Bread and Burger Buns. You are always so much welcome!

We are quite happy with our Restaurant & Playground as a hybrid - now the 14th year already we are busy serving delicious food and refreshing drinks. Our food mix is international. The Western Food is done by a Chef with a German Touch. Thank you, that you value the food as good. In this part of the world we are already very very happy with this result for Western Food. We have many different Cocktails and a extensive Wine collection. Drinks are always good!

Recently stopping for lunch at Nic’s, not sure I would return again.
This is a huge place with a very large kids area which can be great for parties.
I glad it was a fairly quite day however, service was fairly poor considering there were only 4 couples dinning at the time.
Meals are well presented however, the price of a wrap was a little over the top with not much flavour.
Really all and all this was not one of my favourite.

If you love silent places and you are going into a "Restaurant & Playground" you are really a quite adventurous person. But luckily we have as one of seven areas the "Silent & Romantic Room" where diners without kids can concentrate on there meal and the romantic. You are always welcome to dine in Nic's.

You can never go wrong with Nics. The food and drinks are always wonderful, the service is some of the best in the city, and the fact that there is a giant playground to entertain kids makes it the perfect place for a stress-free meal out with family.
Nics is also great about catering to those with dietary restrictions/special diets. Lots of gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options, all labeled clearly on the menu. After trying a lot of different things (we've probably been here about 6 or 7 times), I would highly recommend the Massaman Veg Curry, Pumpkin Tart, Eggplant Tower, and the Falafel. Nics also has one of my husband's favorite burgers in the whole city. You won't regret your visit!

The food variety and quality is good, even the price can be a little higher than average, but with the kids playground it helped for customers with kids to hang out.
Foods are tasty, Location is good, Parking has enough. Staffs are nice.
The owner is very nice to greet us.
If you come with children, this place is good.
If you look for tasty European food, here is also a good idea.

We celebrated our son's birthday at Nic's Restaurant & Playground - and it just was amazing!
Everything was well organized according to our son's and our wishes before hand: table decoration, bouncy castle, face painting, delicious food & drinks, piñata, even an indiviualized birthday cake.
All went super well! Thanks to Nic's Team, our son and his little guests were very happy.
We can highly recommend to celebrate kid's birthday parties at Nic's!!

Nic’s is an attractive restaurant with a large menu serving fresh well presented food. We have been going there since there inception 5-6 years ago. Unfortunately, after my experience last night I won’t be returning. The hidden upcharges and overpriced water and beer. Upon examining the menu my wife discovered a 40 baht charge for a thimble full of cheese requested for pasta, a 20 baht charge for the pizza box to take left overs home, her small bottle of water charged at 37 baht. There are many excellent Western restaurants here that do not hide nasty little upcharges. We won’t return!

Nic's is transparent, we have only one menu, we charge everyone and every nationality the same, the menu is even on our homepage (all points in this sentence are quite unique in Thailand). Kun Derek, we are not an American restaurant. Some rules are working different as you maybe used to it, but since opening in 2012 we have the same pattern of work discipline. There is no free iced table water like you know it from the US. We have a bar menu, you order what you like, for water we have nine options. Our serving portions are correct and balanced. Extra wishes of guest we try to fulfill always and with heart, but to keep our prices fair, we do not include extra wishes in our standard pricing. Since our opening in 2012 beers starts with 90 Baht per bottle, and this is in line with other restaurants. Sorry that you have been unhappy that evening.

A great concept restaurant catering to families although all adult groups seem content. The international cuisine comes from many countries with a German influence including regional curries besides traditional and nouveau European. Also, ribs and Australian steaks. However, the entertainment designed to entertain the children is exceptional quality! There is a room where the children get neon paint and sparkly decor with dancing music games. The jungle gym made of bamboo plus the trampoline offer so much fun for energetic children. Also, a few quiet rooms offer silence. We’re here for New Year’s Eve but hope to return.

This New Years Eve we celebrated a special NEON GLOW KIDS DISCO and it was really huge fun! Nic's Restaurant is great for families and it's designed to treat everyone in the family nice. Our "Chef de Cuisine" is cooking even a special kid's menu. Top ingredients, excellent cooking skills and a beautiful cartoon design to make the little ones smile in the moment the dish get served. We love what we do and we are really proud if our guests like it!

If you want try a very good food, this is the place!! You can find everything from every country... Italian, German, French, Spanish with high quality. Perfect for children's. They have a very nice playground, you can have a lunch without worrie with your kid. And a special kids menu. With the best home made Nuggets I ever tried. We also spend a Christmas dinner there. And was very nice and perfect again.

Thank you Fernanda! Nic's has about 30 Thai Dishes and 90 European Dishes. All cooked to perfection as you would expect it in a high level chef restaurant, but not with the attitude of a fine dining place because we are an easy going family neighbourhood place. By the way the home made Nuggets are from the Kids Menu but made in the Chef Kitchen. And yes we do them by ourselve and not buy something frozen. No way! Everything in Nic's is homemade! You did enjoy as well our Turkey that we prepared especially for you and after the recipes how the Turkey is eaten in Alsace/France and Switzerland during the festive season. We never have been thinking that you can finish the whole bird (4.8kg) with only your family, but Brasilians are strong meat eaters! After being unsuccessful with an Italian (did not make reservation), we came to NICS. We were pleasantly surprised by the warm and friendly welcome by the busy staff. Owner or manager was there too to entertain guests.
Kids were very happy there as there is a playground to play and scream. Good setup. If one wants a quiet place to dine, there is no problem at all. They have a separate area where it is quiet.
We ordered pasta, pizza and salmon. They were all very good. Meatball yummy.
Were we satisfied? Oh yes.
Would we return? If we do come to CM again, Yes.
Wholeheartedly recommend for a family get together. Liked it.

Hi, thank you for your review. Nic's Restaurant has on 3,000sqm nine different themed seating areas. There are garden seats, a bamboo sala, al fresco dining, playground tables, various AC rooms, a second level bamboo seating that we call "Pirates Nest", one room that is "Romantic&Silent" and far away from the playground. Finally our heart, the beginning of everything in 2012, the open "Ambient Restaurant" with still the coolest and most busiest seatings. Yes family come together are often in our restaurant and our most regular guests are the one who love the food from our well cooked menu. Our Chef de Cuisine is with us since seven years and our dishes are still all cooked fresh and healthy in a traditional style. Thank you very much for the 5* review. We are happy and proud that you enjoyed your visit so much!

We have as well "Gluten Free" and "Dairy Free" dishes, but you are right, our "Vegetarian" options are outstanding and so delicious that often even non-vegetarians order them.
