Inside the temple complex of Wat Suan Dok, at the back side, we came across Pun Pun Vegetarian Slow Food Restaurant. They offer Isaan (north-eastern Thai) food, curries, soups, fusion wraps, salads, and local organic coffee and shakes/smoothies. They also sell local produce, bulk organic...items, and more from their own farm and other local groups. We enjoyed some amazing vegan food at Pun Pun – spring rolls, stir-fried noodles, and Penang curry with brown rice.More
I’ve been to Pun Pun before, but in a large group and though all was good it was a bit chaotic.
I went on Saturday at about 13:30 and it was quiet and peaceful- it’s in the grounds of a temple.
I had the Pun...Pun salad, Kao Soi, and a mint, honey, lemon and soda drink. Perfect !!
This came to the staggering price of 180 THB - or about $5.75 US
They are only open for lunch and close at 16:00 or when they run out of food.... which they do on most days. Very busy weekdays and not open on Sunday
Delicious vegetarian food and a great place to find meatless khao soi! My friend ordered an appetizer of something I think is called tofu toast and I'm not a big tofu fan, but it was fantastic. If you need another reason to patronize Pun Pun,...know that it's a part of a larger project that does good work in the Chiang Mai area. What's not to love?More
Delicious, fresh food.Even the simpliest dishes(Pad thai, spring roll) are super tasty!Big variaty of choices.Local prices despite of the organic ingredients!!(40-65 THB)Calm enviroment, naturally kind staff. A bit tricky to find,it is in the inner garden, not visible from the Street!Next to the parking place!
We had lunch here while on a break from the one-day meditation retreat at War Suan Dok. The food was really good, tasty and simple. And cheap! But the ordering process was a bit mixed up, dishes appearing at the table that we hadn't ordered,...and other orders not received, but if you take a relaxed unhurried attitude and appreciate what you receive this is a really lovely quiet lunch spot with a spiritual feel.More
We had a lovely lunch at Pun Pun during a stop at Wat Suan Dok. Somehow, I left my glasses on a table, but didn't notice because I had my prescription sunglasses on as we left. I called later, then returned the next day to...find my glasses sitting on a plate waiting for me! Very thankful for the restaurant's care! And can vouch for the food, too!More
This is a favourite of ours and we come at least once when we are in Chiang Mai.
The restaurant is located in the grounds of a Wat. The food is is good vegetarian/vegan. We had fried rice, banana leaf salad, and grilled tempe with...chilli sauce. Add 3 fruit smoothies and it's a cheap meal for 230 baht.More
