This was a restaurant that used to be very good under it's previous owner but has gone massively downhill. Last night was my birthday and decided to give it one more chance. Oh how I wish we hadn't On the plus side we shared Beef...Carpaccio which was ok. On the negative side we also shared the eggplant starter which was frankly tasteless and inedible. Presented in a soggy lump, looked a bit like a small lasagna but was utterly without taste or texture. But the "piece de resistance" was my main course, Fusili ( undercooked) with tomatoes ( overcooked and soggy) and Italian sausage ( invisible!) There was literally no sausage at all in my sausage dish, just a drizzle of some unidentifiable meat sauce in the bottom of the plate. Essentially I was eating undercooked pasta and overcooked tomatoes, and that was it. I m not a complainer. My partners seafood pasta was "ok" no better but should have been it was 499 baht. Never again. And that's after going there on and off for about 12 years Sadly it's a pale shadow of what it used to be and I left feeling like my pocket had been picked and I was still hungry.More

This is by far the best Italian restaurant I’ve visited in all of Thailand, and can actually compete with Italian restaurants in Europe. The dishes they serve are all cooked to order in an open kitchen. We had bruschetta and truffle arancini as starters, followed...by penne alla vodka and pizza di parma as mains. Finished with the trio of tasters (tiramisu, pannacotta and chocolate mousse) and pistachio gelato. We are enthusiastic Italy lovers, visited there many times, and this restaurant in Chiang Mai, Thailand, is up there with the best of them. Compliments to the chefs!!!More

The lasagna was good but the 2nd dish - spinach and truffle raviali was horrible. Lacked flavour. And when i asked for replacement with another dish - they refused. And they even charged me for it even though I didn't eat it. Poor service and...customer care.More

My wife and I were essentially shocked at the complete lack of any effort at this restaurant to serve delicious, or at least somewhat tasty, meals this evening. We had eaten there years before and usually got pizza with a group of friends. The pizza...wasn't bad but we would have to say, that we've had much better, for example, at Dukes or even Yummy Pizza, in South Chiang Mai. HOWEVER, THE MEALS WE HAD THIS EVENING WERE TOTALLY BLAND NEARLY COMPLETELY TASTELESS AND UNATTRACTIVELY SERVED. My wife got what they called the creamy selection of carbonara, they had another type, I got the eggplant parmesan and we shared a Caesar salad. The carbonara had almost no cream or anything creamy at all in it and about two or three little tiny pieces of what looked and tasted a little bit like bacon. The seasoning and it was almost completely lacking and the pasta itself was barely edible because it was so tasteless. The eggplant parmesan I had was even worse! It was a small portion, served in the middle of a plate and was nearly devoid of sauce of any kind. There was also very little cheese either on top or inside of the pasta layers. But the worst thing of all what's at the eggplant was nearly tasted it was almost like eating barely cooked eggplant, and it was not crispy fried and layered with cheese and sauce like every other eggplant parmesan I've ever had at any restaurant, anywhere. I often get eggplant parmesan because I really usually like it! But certainly not this time. I asked for a tomato sauce that I could put on it and I added at least a half a cup to it and poked it into the meal and try to eat it but only managed to eat half of it. The rest I brought home from my dog, and by the way, both meals were served COLD and had to be returned to be heated. WE ALSO BOTH USUALLY LOVE CARBONARA BUT THIS WAS BARELY EDIBLE , AGAIN WITH NO CREAMY CHEESE SAUCE. IT WAS MORE LIKE JUST EATING PASTA THAT HAVE BEEN HEATED UP AND NOTHING ELSE DONE TO IT. The Caesar salad we had was the worst ever also so little taste so little cheese and it was extremely hard to find any bacon at all and it wasn't fresh bacon, it was some type of little weird bacon chips that they threw in it, and I only found about six of these little tasteless "bacon" chips. It was a decent size salad but it consisted of lettuce these little chips and about four tiny thin strips of parmesan cheese on top. NEEDLESS TO SAY, WE AND ANYBODY WE KNOW, WILL NEVER BE BACK TO "WHY NOT" located between 11th and 13th Street, Just off of Neimanhaman. So very very disappointed in this meal and this restaurant. We had been so looking forward to going out and getting a good Italian meal, But when I got home I opened the refrigerator and ate a piece of chicken to feel a little better. MY DOG HOWEVER DID EAT THE REST OF IT, FAIRLY QUICKLY!More

The only place I have to come everytime visiting ChiangMai. The perfect combination of cold cut menu and pizza is always the best match for me. Lots of selection in menu to try on. Worth every pennies spent.

We ordered a Pizza and Spare Ribs . The Pizza was good, but the Spare Ribs were inedible. Very hard , salty and with almost no meat on it, I got angry how they even dare to serve such a dish. Absolutely ridiculous. Will never...go there again.More

The experience was pathetic and the food was not good too, we were accompanying another couple on our table and they are vegetarian and when they sprinkle the origaano over pizza, suddenly we something was crawling over it, what surprised me there was no attempt...to make any service recovery. We send the slice or two back bcoz insects were crawling over them….just a sorry from waitress and no replacement or any kind of gesture of goodwill. Owner of the restaurant was standing there and talking to one guest with close body language. One server walked over entire restaurant asking everyone that how was your food or experience but he didn’t come to our table. For sure never going back and not recommend at all.More

Went there for dinner with friends last week. The food was under average and over priced for such low quality. The service is bad, the so called manager was unbelievable rude when we complaint about one of dishes we ordered. The place is old and...dirty. Won't go there again!More

Fancied a pizza this evening, so obviously my first choice is always 'Why Not', they had a 'Combo' thingy where you can either get a free salad or dessert for 280Baht. The pizza goes without saying was delicious as was the dessert, Since discovering this...'new' delivery service called TUK, I have been ordering a lot more take-aways than I usually do. They are really quick on delivery, friendly, polite drivers who speak English. They offer Free Delivery depending on your area, I paid a 2 Baht delivery charge as I was a bit way out!! They also charge a lot less commission to the restaurants so I am all for that. Great Pizza--Great delivery service. ( Will not be using Grab again for various reasons) Really, really happy with TUK's delivery service.More

Intended to go out to dinner with a friend visiting from BKK, but became lazy, so decided to fetch some food & wine from Why Not instead & eat at home. Emidio has a wonderful Delicatessen with such varied, high quality meats & cheeses etc,...it was quite a treat to decide on what to choose. Firstly, the wine—2 bottles of the most wonderful Pinot Grigio (Bottega) laden with subtle honyed flavours plus 2 of the Cabernet Savignon. To accompany those wines, we chose artichokes(fabulous), sun-dried tomatoes, mixed olives, spicy pork salami, cooked ham & the most wonderful & ( my new fav) Provolene Spicy cheese, of which the texture I adored( being an English Cheddar fan)—really, really enjoyed that! Got some Pasta E.Fagioli soup laden with beans, pasta & bacon(yum) followed by the most perfect Ricotta cheesecake. A perfect ‘light’ supper. Looking forward to trying out all the other goodies from the ‘Why Not Deli’. Delivery is offered (details on the web-page).More

A 'must try' in Chiang Mai. Probably the best meal for the price I've had in a long time. Nice atmosphere. Large place spreading out between soi 11 & soi 13 (two entrances from either soi), but it's split up so doesn't feel that large....Outdoor & Open Air dining on soi 11 side. Indoor dining on soi 13 side. Large menu (pizza, pasta, salads, soups, fish , beef, chicken, pork, desserts, etc.). Decent wine list too. We had salad & salmon, and I wouldn't hesitate to have the same again. I also like that the portions are good size but not crazy big like they serve in the "make you fat USA". Great service too from the polite & hard working young ladies. Like everywhere in the Nimman area, parking is not a strong point. They have 4 or 5 parking spaces on soi 13. Street parking on soi 11.More
