We ate here twice during our stay in Chiang Mai, which speaks for itself really, as we returned because the service and food was so good.
This family run restaurant should be so proud of itself. The service was impeccable, even down to the tiniest detail. The restaurant itself was beautifully set with fresh flower arrangements in abundance.
The food was excellent and cooked to perfection on both occasions. After the meal, we were very generously offered their homemade Lemoncello, which was very good.
The owner even gave us a lift back to our hotel, when they realized we had been trying for a tuk tuk for a few minutes. Thank you so much and hope your restaurant continues to be a success for years to come.

What a great find! This little gem was opposite our hotel, The Anantara Chiang Mai, and we thought we'd give it a try after a long tiring day when we didn't want to venture too far and were ready for an early night. Our lovely waitress, Thunya, made us feel so welcome and looked after us very well. My husband had a starter of bruscetta topped with tomatoes and mozzarella, which was a very generous portion and he enjoyed it immensely! I had a massive Four Seasons pizza, having declined a starter, and even then I couldn't finish it, even though it was delicious. This wasn't a problem at all and it was boxed up for me to take away. My husband had a lovely salmon pasta dish, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Neither of us had room for dessert! Drinks were very reasonably priced and we both had a complimentary limoncello at the end of our meal
Would definitely recommend this lovely restaurant to anyone looking for quality food!

This place is so delicious we actually visited twice during our day in Chang Mai. It’s the freshest most delicious pasta dishes I’ve ever eaten. I had ravioli and linguine with mushrooms and olive oil on the two occasions we visited. I can’t tell you the flavours so fresh and delicious, my husband recommends the salmon ravioli and lasagna. The atmosphere was laid-back beautiful mellow piano music in the background ool and tables well presented. Many awards hung around the walls and you can understand why the quality of the food it’s not cheap food like at the night market but it’s worth paying for can’t recommend it highly enough.

The title of this review doesn’t really need much expanding on.
Simply terrible…
I love Italian food…being part Italian it’s an obvs I’m passionate about Italian food.
I know what is right and wrong with Italian food.
I know when pizza dough is made fresh, pasta made fresh and also know when stuff has been microwaved.
This place doesn’t do any of those things….aside from microwaving food (lasagna).
The pizza ordered turned up in less than 10 mins…raw dough in the middle of a so called crust.
The lasagna being a brick of soggy mess, exhibiting a post microwave crusted cheese around the edges.
The pasta dish being an equally soggy mess.
Decor = something out of the 1980’s.
Atmosphere = none
The place, food, ambience and service reminded me of one of many episodes from Gordon Ramseys ‘Kitchen Nightmares’…!
Simply awful….go at your peril….!

Visited tonight, the only two people in the restaurant at 7.30pm on a Wednesday night.
Shortly after another two couples arrived.
We ordered Bruschetta special, followed by Lasagne for him & Fettucine Ragu for me.
Both served with a ‘green salad’ to share.
His Lasagne was ordinary to say the least, surely served from frozen, dry, no bechamel between layers, just what appeared to be melted cheese over the top.
My fettucine ragu whilst moist was bland & flavourless even after adding additional seasoning & powdered processed parmesan,
To be honest we couldn’t get out of there fast enough.
We went back to our hotel & enjoyed dessert there instead.
Feel free to try this restaurant for yourselves…but it’s a big NO from us.

First of all we are sorry that you didn’t like our fine dining experience. We have been in business since 1991 and always held our ingredients to the highest standards. Our pastas are freshly made everyday. But we do recall that you didn’t have any complaints during the time of your dinner which we find odd & disappointing. Perhaps we could have found common ground to the reason of your dissatisfaction as taste and feeling about food may differ but it’s hard to tell afterwards.

What a great change of pace from our Thailand tour. I have to say the rolls that are made fresh daily by the chef are THE BEST I’ve ever had. They could seriously be a meal themselves. The tenderloin steak was delicious as well. The atmosphere was perfect. Clean, understated elegance, and a great dining experience. I would add the staff was so attentive and kind. We stayed across the street at the Anatara Resort and can literally walk across the sidewalk. Great night in Thailand.

We encountered Piccola Roma while on iur way to the night market. After 2 weeks in Asia, this was a welcomed change from the traditional food. The pizzas have a great taste and all the pasta dishes were prepared to perfection I recommend the spaghetti with king prawns and tomato sauce

I went there last week , we order Beef carpaccio, spaghetti, and Beef Lasagna. We wait too long time the Beef carpaccio, it was cooked and used thin sliced low grade beef, The steak was not good, poor taste, and poor side dish. Beef Lasagna had no taste of beef. I think they have changed the Chief and the manager, nothing the same as the reviews a few years ago.

Our restaurant has been established since 1991 by Executive Chef Angelo Faro. All our staffs have been well trained by him including our head Chef Suda Cherdchay. We only use quality source supplies & ingredients.
The fact that you still finished all your food and didn’t give any complain.
Good food take time to prepare. We try our best to provide culinary pleasure for our guests. We are always open to suggestion for improvement.

Service was good but the food( the main event) was awful. Risotto looked liked rice pudding and was droopy. Talking of droopy my pizza topping slipped off the base as the bread was stale. The calamari was limp. They have loads of pictures of stars and celebrities that have visited their restaurant over the years but on closer inspection the people look 20 years younger. No doubt this was a great restaurant a long time ago, but now I feel the current owner lacks the ability and or the resources to invest. The toilet did not even have hot water available!

For many years this has been the restaurant in Chiang Mai that I would go to for special occasions or just for a top quality meal in a charming setting.
The food is always perfectly cooked and the service top quality.
I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a delicious Italian meal in Chiang Mai.

After eating a lot of Thai local food, we wanted something else, so we went to Piccola Roma Palace and it was great! The atmosphere, the food is fabulous, and the service is beyond words. We were a couple with 2 kids and we ordered fish, pasta, pizza and salads. Everything was fresh and so tasty.

2 of us ordered pizza which was really awful 🍕 inedible, dry stale base with tasteless tomato sauce topping. 1 of us had vegetarian pasta and it tasted like fish! Avoid! Place looks very old and tired.

Piccola Roma Palace is a restaurant that serves authentic Italian cuisine in Chiang Mai. The restaurant was founded in 1991 by an award-winning Italian chef, Angelo Faro, who is also a member of the prestigious Chaine des Rotisseurs. The restaurant has a elegant and cozy decor, with a spacious indoor seating area and a romantic outdoor garden. The menu offers a variety of dishes, from pasta and pizza to salads and desserts. I ordered the lasagna and the tiramisu, and they were both superb. The lasagna was creamy and cheesy, with a rich meat sauce and homemade pasta. The tiramisu was light and fluffy, with a delicate coffee flavor and mascarpone cream. The service was friendly and professional, and the prices were reasonable. The restaurant is located near Charoen Prathet Road, which is easy to access. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to try some authentic and delicious Italian food in Chiang Mai

So I’ve been here numerous times over the years and yes it might feel a bit outdated when you step in however that’s where the fun starts. Dining is an experience and with this restaurant you can count on a real Tuscan feel as the dishes are from that very special region in Italy. I read another review which was complaining about the lasagna!? Ok ok hold on this even made me more hungry for lasagna. Hands down on of the best there is, maybe even better than in Italy. For my idea they’ve always kept their portions generous while keeping the quality consistent. Give it a try whether you’re a pasta or pizza fan!

Het is lang geleden een mooi restaurant geweest, maar het is alsof de tijd heeft stilgestaan. Many things are not from today. They helped us very nice, and they use good products, but finally the food is not that good. We came here because of the good reviews and than it is very disappointing. You have to spent a lot of money to update the reataurant. Sorry for the nice people that served us.
