The Free Bird Cafe just happened to be right next to the hostel I was staying in, and what a find! It's relaxing, the food is outstanding and they support a charity called the freedom house. I stopped by here for breakfast before venturing out...More

Restaurant was clean, service was friendly and the food was some of the best I had in Chiangmai. And I love the fact this is a cafe with a purpose.....helping those who desperately need help. I would highly recommend!

I love freebird. They make amazing Burmese salads - tea leaf salad, ginger salad, cabbage etc and delicious smoothies. They are often very busy so be patient, the food is well worth the wait.

This cafe served the best vegan fare in the city, and being respective to regional dishes made it authentic. My only regret is not eating everything on the menu. Pick anything, it'll all be good, but in particular I loved the Tea salad and pumpkin...More

This place is amazing. Their mission is great, their food is incredible. I highly recommend their loaded kao soi. Also, I've tried 6 of the 8 or so specialty salads, usually in a three-salad-sampler plate to split with my husband. Every single one tastes incredible....More

This cafe offers good and healthy food options, and you also help their non-profit organization. Great to check, even if not to eat!

Worst Pad Thai in my 5 years living in Thailand. The menu says "Classic style with egg but full of diced veggies, large serving." It was a big pile of noodles, some egg, a few slivers of green onion and half a carrot. No bean...More

Visited free bird with my boyfriend. Food was great and the restaurant is based around a great cause. Even got to have a gluten free brownie which will certainly be one of the highlights of our two week trip!

Description
Our beautiful location is on the North side of the moat that surrounds the quaint "old city" of Chiang Mai. It is a perfect place to sit, enjoy the breeze, sunlight and people watching on the main road. The interior is attractive, colorful and bright with our student's art work and long share tables to encourage customers to sit together and make new friends or private tables and a small sofa in the kids corner where there are plenty of books, toys and art supplies to keep the kids happy while parents enjoy their healthy vegetarian or vegan western or local style breakfast, lunch, smoothies or coffee and dessert. We serve many Burmese and ethnic foods that you can't get anywhere else so it is fun to try something new! We also have a fun and funky little Pre-Loved Charity Shop in the cafe where you can not only donate your old clothing, household items, books and more but purchase goods and support our charity at the same time. We have loads of English language novels, travel guides, hats, shoes, scarves, jewelry, men's and women's clothing and more. We also sell organic spirulina, triphala and natural skin care products from local vendors. Please come and check us out today! You can park cars, motorbikes and bicycles along the side of the building.
