We first went to Hot Chillis for a quick beer and thought the place looked amazing with such stylish decor. We looked at the menu and the food looked really good so we came back later in the week to try it... However when we...actually ordered the food it was not as tasteful to mouth as it was to the eye. The satay chicken was cold upon the first bite, the wontons which were meant to be filled with pork were mere fortune cookies, I’m sure if the was a note inside I would of told us to run. The baked potato dish looked nothing like I did in the menu we were served 4 boiled potatoes and plate of breadcrumbs. When we asked about the sour Creme I felt bad to to take the staff away from the oh so intense pool game, they seemed very disappointed that we interrupted that. Reluctantly we received out sour Creme and it was nothing but a mere lump of mystery white stuff, looking like feta but tasting like feet. We refused to pay for this meal and spoke to the manager. Being a trained chef for 8 years I told him that if served food like this to a customer I would be ashamed of myself. To be fair to the manager he took this complaint in his stride and asked me for my opinion of how he could make it better. Maybe they were having a bad day as we all do, but to see such a beautiful restaurant empty is self explanatory.More

Food here was really pretty good for a casual place. They do however adhere to the "no alcohol served" policy between 2 and 5pm.

We ate there yesterday and location in in old city. Staff very friendly and the food we ordered was tasty. Shrimp cake, vegetable yellow curry and morning glory cooked and seasoned well. All had a little spice but kids ate some. Downside Only had fan...and no AC and no baby chair.More

We visited this very pretty restaurant this evening. After a couple of drinks we ordered a meal. We waited an hour and then asked what was happening. Told it wouldn't be long. Ten minutes later we gave up waiting and left. They couldn't have cared...less. Several people at the next table came, waited and left because nobody helped them either. Although the restaurant is very attractive it is, in our opinion, under staffed, overpriced (for Thailand) and touristy.More

Had a nice lunch here. Food and service were very good but I absolutely loved the atmosphere. Very nice easy listening music playing that was loud enough to hear but not too loud that you could not have a conversation with someone across the table....Would definitely return.More

This place is no more than a trap to drag tourists. Beautiful place but I later found out that locals and residents never go into it. Way over priced since it serves mainly Thai food. Long waiting time careless service staff and less thatn normal...flavor. You feel that you were literally dragged in to be ripped off and released. Avoid this place.More

A group of six of us went out together to find a place to eat. We saw a couple of possibilities but couldn't get a group consensus so we moved on. Hot Chili is eye catching if nothing else. We decided to give it a...try. It was surprisingly good with a pretty extensive menu. Everyone was happy with their food and drinks. After 19 days of travel in SE Asia I was delighted to have a meat dish (their recommended roasted pork) that didn't come in a sauce or was fried....just roasted.More
