Decided to find out what all the hype was about and it lived up to most of it. Ordered the goat stew in Chinese herbs (no.1 on menu) and the famous no.6 Noodles (large) with beef in soup. Actually preferred no.1 as it was more...unique and that herbal flavour had a great aftertaste feeling refreshed. A lot of this experience is hype, worth visiting once but the effort to get here may deter some (was a good 15-20 mins taxi ride from Asok at 5pm). However if you’re familiar with thai street food it’s not going to be something out of this world, so keep your expectations reasonable. HUGE TIP: on the way back, walk down the main road of Soi Sukhumvit 63 for about 400m and you will see the Don Quixote mascot (famous Japanese store) on a building. This is DONKI Mall. They provide a free tuk tuk ride to their “customers” which takes you back to Thonglor BTS station. This will save you 1/3 of the time to walk back to the nearest BTS station.More

When I first heard about this place I was thinking ‘open pot street food’ no way! This is without a doubt the best beef noodle street food I have tried in my 10+ trips to Bangkok. My phone did not get me the exact spot,...however the wonder aroma led me the the open restaurant. I definitely will return.More

This is the most wonderfully, exciting and aromatic restaurant. If you didn’t know how good it was, you would probably avoid it. This is beef stew cooking on a large scale! And by large, I mean large; a huge pot of simmering stew has cooked...beef and fresh vegetables constantly added. This gives the justification that the stew has been cooking non-stop in the same pan for 45 years! The awards on the wall tell the story and include two from Michelin. Try number 6 on the menuMore

I have been to Wanit Pattana for noodles so many times over the past 5 years. Prior to this, I wasn’t a big fan of soup noodles in Bangkok due to the heat, but this place is so good that I am prepared to put...up with the discomfort. The broth they make for the noodles is so tasty and the brisket they cook is so soft. I haven’t taken anyone to this place who hasn’t liked it.More

The beef was really tasty but the broth was strangely enough quite watery and therefore the noodles a bit tasteless. A small portion was 100 THB.

Food was average. Quite bland beef noodles. But its very local feel in a safe atmosphere. Paid a pretty steep price of 100baht per large bowl. Menu does not have a price so tourists are probably charged more. Probably one time experience here is enough...for me.More

Known for their beef and goat stew. This is very popular for locals and tourists. This place is busy at times, but there is an upstairs eating area. If you're looking for a fancy and clean place to eat. This restaurant isn't for you. I...got the Lad Na with pork, vegetables and fat noodle with gravy sauce. Also goat stew with Chinese herbs and longan fruit drinks. The dishes are really good. Flavorful. The goat stew can take awhile to make. The total bill came out to 278 bahts. Highly recommend coming here.More

This place earned its michelin star for the last 2 years and it certainly lived up to its standard. Dont count on it for a 5 star service but food there is 6 star. Its located near Ekamai BTS, but you would have to take...a cab there from BTS because its a long walk down the road to this shop. This is one place you cannot miss because you will be greeted with a HUGE....I mean SUPER HUGE pot of broth as you enter. It was one of the best beef stew we have eaten in BKK. The flavor is complex yet not too heavy and the beef is super tender. They serve a mixture of beef parts from meat to tendon and others. Great experience and great food. WIll certainly be back again on our next trip to BKK.More

Our friend knew we were in Bangkok and sent us a link to a story about Wattan Panich, a nondescript Thai eatery that's kept its broth continuously stewing for almost half a century We were very excited to accept the challenge to find this place--and...so glad we did! Open to the street, Wattana Panich is Bangkok casual, with the usual metal tables and plastic chairs. You'll spot the enormous pot of broth as you approach. The menu was longer than we expected, and we didn't need it. We knew we needed to try the beef stew. So many flavors, good complexity--it was delicious! Two bowls, two beers for a total of about 300 baht (about $10). It was doing a big delivery service as well. We watched them fill many bags for a motorbike delivery order to take away. You'll love the authentic local atmosphere and, more importantly, the food!More
