From my last review on second visit food was worse than the 1st visit but this time on my third visit the food was just like Thai food in one of those 'not so good' Thai restaurant oversea if you know what I mean. This time we could not be bothered about the tasting set anymore since our experience on... More

The best part of the thai restaurant at the mandarin is the boat ride across the river. The live shows are touristy but nice. Take a table outside if weather permits. The chicken wings were outstanding, tofu rolls were good. I would avoid the fish cakes and the spring rolls. The mince chicken with chillies and hot basil was average... More

This may be of concern to some as a little touristy but we found the balance between the meal and the entertsinment about right. Its a good romantic night for a couple starting with the boat ride across to the restaurant and wr had a good table near the stage. None of the tables face the stage so you do... More

make sure you are seated outside to experience the smells, heat and life on a living river where nothing really changed since the Oriental opened 140 years ago

Everything was perfect....except for that one little thing. Getting there is an experience in itself as you are take the ferry across from the hotel to the restaurant - how cool is that😀 They struggled a bit with my reservation but we got to the table eventually. Word of advice, insist on the full wine list (the main menu shows... More

This fancy Thai dining experience is perfect for a romantic evening out. I highly recommend first going to the Mandarin Oriential Hotel and taking their special riverboat across to the Sala Rim Naam. It's a magical place, the banyan trees festively decorated with tiny white lights and tropical walks with reflecting pools. Some of the best Thai food I have... More

I invited 2 friends to Sala Rim Naam for dinner and cultural performance this evening. My expectation of this supposedly a vanguard of Thai foods fell far short. I was disappointed with the foods. For a restaurant that is affiliated with a cooking school and great hotel, the Thai foods served are below par. The tom yam koong was bland... More

While in Bangkok, we wanted to see a traditional Thai dance performance, and if we could get really good Thai food at the same time, we thought it would be great. The restaurant is just a short boat ride from the Mandarin Oriental. The restaurant is nicely adorned, but nothing special. The performance was pleasant. You got to pick your... More

Second night in Bangkok and I had the pleasure of dining at the Terrace Rim Naan. As you can imagine my first night was beautifully chaotic!! We wanted a long, lazy, quiet, authentic evening with good food and to feel looked after. As you enter the Mandarin Hotel, walk through to the pier and a boat will take you to... More

Super professional approach, Thai buffet, more stylish and photo friendly. The menu is well designed for Thai food beginners.Lacks some that aromatic dynamic flavor palette. Dinner comes included with some performing acts. If you have been to dinners featuring a Thai show before you might be a bit worried as it often feels touristy or too loud but the level of... More
