Loved this cozy bar. Sat at the bar and had a great time listening to the upbeat music, chatting with the super nice bar tender, and sampling some interesting Thai liqours and cocktails.

I have been living in Bangkok for last nine years as an expat and went there recently on a friend’s recommendation. You need to get a taxi to get there since it’s not near the train routes and is not nearby popular hotels. Also may...More

Tep Bar celebrates Thai culture with pride. Tucked away in Chinatown, it boasts an extensive menu of cocktails, Thai spirits and when I visited, an incredible live band playing traditional music. Try the Nila Pat.

What an unexpected delight! Tep Bar already came highly recommended, it was still better than expected! The live traditional Thai music is a nice gimmick and helps to set the atmosphere. For me the real gem in this place are the the cocktails and how...More

We were staying in Yaowarat Road (China Town) and I could not for the life of me find anywhere to see thai traditional musical performances. I just happened to read an article online for good bars, and came across Tep. We went quite a few...More

Two cocktails in this bar cost me 1000 Baht. I suppose the more expensive the charge the trendier this bar is supposed to be. Yes, they make their own cocktails using local herbs along with local whiskey and rum. So these are definitely different. But...More

Food was fairly decent without being exceptional for the city. Big favourite were the skewers and fried chicken tendons. The drinks were interesting and won't be to everyone's tastes with their emphasis on herb and spice infused spirits. White wine was undrinkable. The band was...More

A little bit off the street. Cocktails were average. They had a traditional live band playing, very interesting. Watch out for the nut snacks they hand out since they contain whole chilli peppers!

Yeah they nailed it: super modern cocktails and some old school luk thung. Cocktails are pricey: minimum 280 baht, up to 800 or so. Remember that the minimum wage in Thailand is around 300 baht a day. If possible get a seat downstairs so you...More

Chinatown / Yaowarat
Better known as 'Yaowarat' among locals, Chinatown is
Bangkok's bustling district that never sleeps. During
the day, the main street and its small alleyways are
filled with a vibrant mix of colours, scents and
flavours coming from the roadside restaurants and
all-day markets. The real action, however, happens
after sunset. Surrounded by neon lights, Thais and
tourists alike flock here around dinnertime to feast
