Smart, snappy and sophisticated. Friends arrived with just twelve hours on hand so we took them to The Deck. Hospitable, attentive staff, beautiful food, very reasonable prices. Overlooks the Chao Phraya river straight into magnificent Wat Arun. Could not have been more impressive on every count.

The good side of this restaurant is the view. They have the fantastic View of the Chao Praya River and Temple of the Dawn. I can sit all days there watching boat travel up and down the river. The restaurant has a good cocktail but the food has to be improved. They are not good and a little pricey.

Across from Wat Arun the temple of the Dawn it is a lovely restaurant to visit at sunset. The food is good. The staff friendly.

We were just in the Bar at the second floor, not in the restaurant. Very good cocktails and a fantastic view over the river and Bangkok. But you pay the view with a little bit higher prices (300 Baht for a long drink). I recommend the "Bangkok Slim" ;-)

The food at this restaurant is pretty good. Service was really good, the server was very patient to describe the food and when our meals arrived, they were exactly as we wanted. Really nice food, fantastic view, but a bit pricey.

A Thai friend brought us to The Deck for lunch. Walking along the narrow road it was hard to understand where we were heading but when we reached the end of the road we were treated by a view across the river to the old temple and a lovely little restaurant with a guest house above. The staff were delightful... More

The food is excellent and there is a lot of choice. Service was great if it wasn't for courses arriving separately (in our family of 5, some of us had finished their course while others weren't served yet). The view on Wat Arun across the river is superb. If you want to experience the river, go for the terrace but... More

the Deck downstairs : We arrived an hour early due to mistiming and the staff downstairs welcomed us with no hesitation. All the tables had Reserved signs on them but the staff let us pick whatever table we wanted. After we ordered drinks it started raining. There was a retractable plastic cover but the rain was too strong. The staff... More

We hosted some VIP overseas guests for diner at The Deck Arun Residence and found it to be a really great place to host. A good menu selection of food (Western & Thai) and wines, all the common dishes your would expect and because our guests could not eat spicy food the staff accommodated our request and all dishes were... This is the perfect place where to go after a day sightseeing! The view is good, on the Arun Wat, it is easy to reach from the Grand Palace and Wat Pho and food is fine. I wouldn't really recommend the Pad Thai as I was quite let down by it, but green curry shrimps was more than good (not... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
