We were wandering around the water trying to find a place to eat lunch and happened upon The Deck by chance. The service was top notch with the waitresses checking in every few minutes. The view is phenomenal and food was an absolute delight. This is a must try place in Bangkok. I recommend the prawns and chicken satay.

We visited this restaurant after visiting the nearby flower market, chosen through Trip Advisor ratings. Easy to find, the restaurant is right on the river even though the views to Wat Arun are blocked by a decadent nearby structure. The entrance, which seems to be shared with the above hostel, could be improved to attract a bit more customers inside.... More

I was at the Deck with my girlfriend after reading nice reviews on TA and I'd say that the food is really average to awful level. The reservation was also difficult as they said that they usually require booking months in advance (hence we showed up without booking, but can still get a table anyway). The price is expensive for... More

Smart, snappy and sophisticated. Friends arrived with just twelve hours on hand so we took them to The Deck. Hospitable, attentive staff, beautiful food, very reasonable prices. Overlooks the Chao Phraya river straight into magnificent Wat Arun. Could not have been more impressive on every count.

The good side of this restaurant is the view. They have the fantastic View of the Chao Praya River and Temple of the Dawn. I can sit all days there watching boat travel up and down the river. The restaurant has a good cocktail but the food has to be improved. They are not good and a little pricey.

Across from Wat Arun the temple of the Dawn it is a lovely restaurant to visit at sunset. The food is good. The staff friendly.

We were just in the Bar at the second floor, not in the restaurant. Very good cocktails and a fantastic view over the river and Bangkok. But you pay the view with a little bit higher prices (300 Baht for a long drink). I recommend the "Bangkok Slim" ;-)

The food at this restaurant is pretty good. Service was really good, the server was very patient to describe the food and when our meals arrived, they were exactly as we wanted. Really nice food, fantastic view, but a bit pricey.

A Thai friend brought us to The Deck for lunch. Walking along the narrow road it was hard to understand where we were heading but when we reached the end of the road we were treated by a view across the river to the old temple and a lovely little restaurant with a guest house above. The staff were delightful... More

The food is excellent and there is a lot of choice. Service was great if it wasn't for courses arriving separately (in our family of 5, some of us had finished their course while others weren't served yet). The view on Wat Arun across the river is superb. If you want to experience the river, go for the terrace but... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
