I have always loved this restaurant and try and visit every time I come to Bangkok. It really does have it all. The setting is quite surreal, right on the banks of the river, at the foot of the massive peninsula but surrounded by beautiful trees and plants, this really is an oasis in Bangkok. There really is something about... More

This intimate restaurant is the perfect place to dine as river boats traverse the Chao Praya. The traditional cuisine simply could not be finer or more beautifully presented with the freshest of locally sourced ingredients. The serving dishes are works of art and the service is second to none. Many thanks for making our visits here so memorable! Stephanie Bagish... More

We stayed at The Peninsula Hotel and chose this restaurant for our last honeymoon dinner meal and I have to say we were extremely pleased with our choice. The riverside setting and the decoration make for a very romantic dinner so try to book a table right next to the river if possible. The price is a bit more expensive... More

This was a fabulous Thai meal, possibly our best Bangkok experience. Don't be frightened by the Peninsula potential prices, A$300 for 4 people bought us fabulous food, wine, beer, cocktail. As anticipated the Thai menu was excellent, beautifully prepared and presented. I remember the prawns especially as large, juicy and full of flavour. The venue adds to it all in a... More

The décor by the river is typically Thai. Great choice of elaborate Thai food accompanied by an excellent selection of wines, with superb service.

Brilliant Hotel with rooms overlooking the river set in beautiful surroundings. Lovely swimming pool with staff looking after bathers with chilled towels and drinks. Restaurants to suit all tastes with but especially riverside. Hotel ferry service first rate which takes you to may interesting places on the other side of the river. Taxis on the opposite bank can be obtained... More

We always visit this restaurant for dinner when in Bangkok. However on our last trip, it was closed for refurbishment. Consequently, we were very happy to be able to dine their recently. The setting on the side of the river is beautiful, the traditional Thai buildings that form the Thiptara complex add to the experience as does the peaceful traditional... More

Another fantastic fine dining experience at Thiptara. The food and service were both first rate. The musician playing on the kim perfectly complemented this extremely romantic riverside experience. This is, without doubt, my favourite riverside Thai restaurant in Bangkok. Highly recommended

We stayed at The Peninsula hotel where Thiptara resides. As hotel guests we never had any issue getting a table, though can't confirm if that would be the same for outside guests. The food is exclusively Thai and is absolutely incredible. The service is also spotless, and hugely welcoming. We ended up eating here many of our nights in Bangkok.... More
