For those wanting less spicy Chinese food in Bangkok, this is the place to be. The beef appetiser is umami yummy. Also try the fried sponge cucumber leaf and fried rice noodle with assorted vegetables. Wash it down with milky smooth soy and end with a GuiLin jelly dessert.

The dumpling was delicious, however the rest of the food we ordered was crap. I saw our main meal being taken out from the microwave. The breaded pork chop was tough and dry. It's not worth the money that we paid for. The waitress missed a meal that he ordered and we waited for it for more than 15 minutes... More

We stopped in Yong He Dou Jiang by chance due to the surprisingly limited dining options in the nearby area. The cafe is very clean and quaint, with sweet staff that do have limited English speaking abilities. Between the four of us, we ordered an array of dishes: vegetables, meats, rice, drinks... Everything was DELICIOUS and the prices were great.... More

Dumplings in this place are great and very reasonably priced! Thin noodles are also good and so are the vegetables. Avoid chicken meals, quality of chicken not so great. Place very authentic, chopsticks only and free tea and very sweet waitresses that don't know more than few words in English. Order dumplings and you will not be disappointed!

Yes I think this unpretentious place just across from the Chong Nonsi BTS station or next to the Om Yin Lodge is as good as the Din Tai Fung (chains) known for the best dumplings in the world. This is our second time at this restaurant and let me tell you we ordered thesteamed dumplings (of course), the pan fried... More

The Xiao Long Bao in Yong He is OK.However I find that those served in Ding Tai Fung and Crystal Jade restaurants much tastier and of course much more expensive. It is a no frills medium size air conditioned restaurant.Service by staff is generally good. Some recommended dishes include the fried rice with XO sauce,Mapoh tofu and the Taiwanese pan cakes.Food... More

I work between Hong Kong and Bangkok and travel back and forth. If you like the Taiwan-style noodles and soup dumplings, this is the place. They are more or less identical to what you might get at a noodle shop in Taipei. If you are used to something else, like your dumplings from back home in a Western country, these... More

I'm from Melbourne and am spoilt for choice as far as dumplings go. This place was just ok. If you are craving some dirty dumplings in Bangkok then by all means give it a whirl but really in a city like Bangkok there are literally thousands of better food options.

Having tried Xiao Long Bao in nearly every country in Asia from Singapore to China, I have to say these are quite good and competes with what you will get in Shanghai. May people tout Din Tai Fung or Crystal Jade, but these in my opinion far exceed the others. I liked the pork better than the mixed pork with... More

Great traditional Chinese food The dumplings are great - try the Xiao Long Bao and the Shui Jiao - and the La Mian fantastic. Very good bargain, especially if you compare with the very trendy and overpriced Din Tai Fung. All in a very "popular Chinese" decorum. Those who have experience of Chinese street restaurants won't be disappointed.

Staying in Sathorn

Neighborhood Profile
Sathorn
Sathorn is Bangkok’s central business district, but here you’ll find much more than international banks and suited-up office workers. Take a stroll along the small alleys between the skyscrapers and you’ll find yourself among Bangkokians living life at a much slower pace. Feast on fantastic Thai food which you can find in the town-house restaurants, office food courts and sidewalk food stalls spread all over the area, especially around St. Louis Hospital. A visit to Sathorn is not complete without a drink at one of the glitzy sky bars perched atop its skyscrapers.
