This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Bangkok. Definitely try the signature khao soi! But there're also plenty of other options at an affordable price

I recently visited Chiang Mai, home of amazing khao soi, and was on the search to find an equally delicious version in Bangkok. The internet led me to Hom Duan, a good sized establishment down a small alley. A bit tricky to spot, as I...didn't notice any signs in English. An easy walk from the Ekkamai BTS stop All seating is indoors. Enter and find a buffet of bubbling Thai specialties awaiting you on the left. Examine the menu (which I didn’t spot until later!) or just walk up to this counter and order your khao soi. It will be brought to your table on a tray. There will also be a button on the tray, which tells the cashier what you had. When you are ready to leave, bring this button to the cashier. PROS: - DELICIOUS, but: - More expensive than some others, at 90 baht per bowl. - Generous serving - Good amount of seating - 6 minute walk from Ekkamai BTS CONS: - Not a whole lot of atmosphere, but clean and comfortable, so maybe not really a "con" This khao soi ranks high on my list. I hope you enjoy it!More

Cheaper and quicker than a trip to Chiang Rai! Quick, friendly service with 2 bowls of kao soi with a tasty glass of guijiap (the sweet purple stuff) for 200 baht. Add a spoonful of the homemade spicy "prik pad namon" (garlic fried chili paste)...to kick it up a few notches. Delish!More

We were so craving for Northern Thai food and we found this resto! We ordered the recommended dishes like khao soi and pork curry. We liked them all! For the pork, God it was so tender and the curry itself was so tasty!!!! The khao...soi wasn’t that strong which was good. I tried one of the best khao soi in chiang mai and i think this one tasted better because it wasnt to creamy. Recommended!!!!More

A good place for Northern-styled meal with reasonable price. The food tastes quite similar to the ones you could find in Chiangmai or Chiangrai. Kaeng-Hang-Lay is highly recommended by its braised pork and good spices. Khao-Soy-Kai is one of the recommended options. The restaurant's atmosphere...is very welcoming all the food lovers.More

Came for lunch, no idea what to expect but really enjoyed the restaurant and decor. Like the selection of dishes to choose from, friendly staff to explain the dishes and prices are charged according to the number of dishes you choose. A little spicy for...me but my group liked it very much.More

I was get up from the bed early on my day off because this place just came up in my mind I was there once... long time ago and a few times using Line Man service. I always eat at least 2 dishes here cus...I love Northern food as much as I love Som tum. I usually order Jor Pak Kad which is a Vegetables soup with pork bone and it taste a bit sour super refreshing and fresh vegetables also pork is so soft I always put a tea spoon of chilli powder that's my favourite taste u have to eat it with rice topped with fried pork and 'Nam prik ong' with fresh cucumber for me it's perfect combination. Also their rice noodle is good too I like 'Kanom Jean Nam Ngaew' better bring some friends with you then you can share and try many dishes ;)More

As a long time noodle-obsessive who has doggedly searched out Chiang Mai's best Khao Soi stalls, and who dreams of the flavors when at home in Hong Kong, I was pretty excited to try Hom Duan - a bit pricey by local standards, but it...has received so many good reviews and was near my place. In sum, the chicken was well done and had plenty of meat, the egg noodles also good, but the broth - what separates the mediocre from the good in noodle world - was light and the overwhelming flavor was sweetness with a bit of spice, and with little of the complexity and richness that marks really good Khao Soi. To add salt to the wound of my disappointment, the wait staff asked me to pay ahead of time, and I noticed as I was eating that all of the Thai customers near me paid after their meal. It's a minor thing that I doubt is a policy of the restaurant, and frankly I wish that I hadn't noticed it as it left an additional unpleasant taste in the mouth. The place is clean and the staff otherwise seemed professional and friendly. But as my Thai friend explained to me at irritated length, there are a couple of places serving Khao Soi nearby that are better and cheaper. I would recommend this place only to delicate souls who prize a pristine environment over depth of flavor.More

if you are around the soi Ekhamai at lunchtime this is the place to have a nice meal and I recommend the best of this restaurant, the khao soi Kai, (egg noodles with curry, chicken, squeeze in some lime and mix in the onion). I...tried different dishes which are good as well but this one is a must. Clean restaurant and Simple but excellent cuisine and the prices are more than reasonable. 70/2 Ekhamai Soi 2, easy to get there, 5 minutes walk from BTS stationMore

Haven't had Khao Soi since visitint Chiang Mai a couple years ago. A short stopover in Bangkok got me craving the delicious flavours I had experienced in the past. I read about this place online and immediately hopped on the Skytrain. It is only a...short walk from Ekkamai station, although a little hidden down a backlane. Place is busy, food well presented and literally tasted amazing. The chicken was falling off the bone, the spice was perfect and the restaurant clean and modern (hipster you may even say). Really enjoyed this place and hope you will give it a bash aswell after reading this review.More

I don’t think it’s halal certified because you can find pork in the menu. I’m not that sure so you can call them and ask.
