A friend had recommended the food court at Central Chidlom. It's been redone as Lofters (from the Food Loft), and they've changed their focus from the usual hodge podge of kiosks to a selection of older Thai streetside places. It's a good cast, very similar...to what was done at the Erawan Bangkok Mall not far away (I am so happy that they have Likit Gai Yang there now). The selection is very good, and they've kept things so there's not much overlap in product. It's also wide, clearly lit, and sparkling clean. And not much in the way of crowds (yet). I had a steamed rice dumpling pancake by Krua Mukdahan. The shell was done out on a cheesecloth and steamed, creating that slightly gummy coating. Then that was packaged inside a crisp pastry, and sprinkled with deep fried garlic. A bit of Vietnamese sausage on the side. Now, obviously, that was a starter. I had a hankering for fried chicken. And the Thai do very good chicken. I ordered a half a chicken from Jay Kie. This might have been a bit much. Luckily, I'd ordered a coconut from the nice fruit lady, and it arrived in time to save me from an embarrassing Heimlich. It is an attractive setting, and in mid-afternoon it's quiet.More

I've had pretty good meals here in the past, but not so this time. Many of the stations are closed, greatly reducing the choices and creating a very tired vibe. I had a pizza slice and salad from the Italian place. The salad was just...OK (tasteless tomatoes), but the pizza was horrible. Horrible beyond words! If they can't maintain decent standards, they should close the place.More

The service here is really bad one of the lady who was taking care of our queu was not well trained she was rude and treated customer with no respect. The store was giving us food not according to the proportion gram. The dish was...still dirty with rice stuck on it. I’ve never had this worse service and sanitary in my life. The bill was incorrect as well and when the bill came as a written note like a pencil on a paper by the waiter as 700 which we were supposed to pay just 600. To be honest a disgrace place to have a lunch with your friends and family.More

Numerous choices of cuisines - Arabic, Indian, western, Thai ... in one food hall. Customer can book at table and order the food using the table number. Your food will be served at your table. The place is very busy during meal periods and have...to wait for a table.The service is good too. The only concern is to locate the place. BTS is at the 3rd floor leavel. You need to come one floor below and locate this at the corner extending to corridor that leads to an escalator for another floor down. If the staff on the second floor direct you to the top floor ( food court) ..yes there is another one.. dont be surprised. This is due to communication gap.More

A very easy convenient and with assortment of foods desserts etc. Clean and hygienic expanse with enough seating space. If in vicinity of this Mall, viz. Central Chitlom, Bangkok, an ideal break spot for meeting up, or for a family meal too. Reasonably priced -...could be cheaper than the Thai street food locally. Located adjacent to Chitlom BTS (Metro or Subway train station). One can pick and choose from a large variety. At the Entry collect one Numbered card per head and get each order bill swiped into this card, sit at any table and get Yr order delivered thru' the nearest waiter at hand. At the Exit return each card and pay your total bill amount.More

We rated this average because the food is on average twice the price and whilst there is table service the quality was the same as street food. One dish was 150-190 Baht and the same dish would cost me 80 Baht at food republic. It’s...air conditioned and it’s clean but we wouldn’t come here when food republic is half the price in Siam Center. The variety in the eat Thai food court in central embassy is better.More

For a Sunday lunch, it was very empty. The lights were dimmed, the staff, although not unfriendly, were distant and it just seemed like a place about to close down. Good variety of food available but the Thai choices lack taste. Most are quite bland. I can only assume that being among the oldest food court around, it has grown tired. But it is clean, efficient and has good service.

When shopping at Central Chidtlom, the food loft located on the top floor is a good place for lunch. We usually go to the Vietnamese stall to order the deep-fried Spring rolls and the Chicken noodle soup. The Thai Coconut ice cream as dessert is...also a good choice.More
