We came for brunch with friends and had an enjoyable time. The place was not crowded due to the Covid situation.
We had salad, pasta and sandwiches. The food was good. The service was fast and the employees were helpful too.
Food quality way below the average, not tasty all and not sufficient in quantity, but you won’t finish it in anyway. For a simple breakfast for two we paid over 1000 Baht and left hungry. Food was basically tasteless. Somehow they stopped the AC, the...restaurant became super hot, plenty of staff but no one recognized. Had to ask twice to turn the AC on. There are plenty of choices in Bangkok who provide a much better food quality. I will for sure never go there again.More
Roast used to be one of my favourite restaurants in Bangkok. It has never been cheap but I’ve always loved the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. Last time I went, I was rather shocked to see not only had the prices gone up quite a...lot, but the size of the portion had decreased possibly by 50%.
I don’t think it’s fair to be the prices up and then reduce the portion size so considerably.
I’m going to try and find another restaurant that doesn’t try to take as much money from you and give so little in return.
Seems like this restaurant is just out to make as much money as possible.
Back when they opened The Roast was a good option for brunch. My recent experience, however, was also my last. It took the waitstaff 20+ min and a few waves to come to the table and take our orders. Then another 15min to get a...cup of coffee. The Eggs Benedict was served way before the coffee. The ham in it looked "grey", didn't taste fresh, and the eggs were lukewarm. The Americano finally came but tasted like instant coffee. The staff couldn't understand English to answer if the coffee was instant. I was given a new cup of coffee which wasn't that much better. For 80baht, really? Staff was polite, but kindness alone won't bring us back. Sorry Roast. Fortunately Bangkok has much better options.More
Had an enjoyable breakfast! Love the atmosphere, very clean and muji. Service was good too. Ordered corn fritters which came in a generous serving, every element in the dish came together very well! Iced espresso cubes don’t quite melt that well so do give it...a good stir. Although coffee was on the sour side, Cappuccino was a good cuppa :)More
When we eat here today, they have set lunch package ( salad/soup, pasta, dessert and drinks), its really value for money. We also loveee the truffle pasta and crispy chicken, so tasty.. and overall the taste of the food are good and not too expensive....I love especially the carrot cake. No wonder my friend ask us to visit this place while in bangkokMore
there are lost of reviews how great the foods are i don’t need to mention. It’s not cheap so come for the set lunch for only 390b. If you aren’t coming for the set lunch don’t come when the set lunches are available as it...is very crowded (1hour waiting at least!) it became an attraction for korean tourists don’t know why.More
There are two branches of Roast Cafe. The other is at EmQuartier. Both offer the same menu.
This branch is at The Commons which is worth a visit of itself for its range of venues including a bar and its diverse food venues.
Roast Cafe...is on the top floor and while there are lifts it’s worth wandering up from the lower to the top floor to check out all The Commons has to offer.
Roast Cafe has both outdoor and indoor dining. Indoors has large windows providing a well-lit, open-feel place.
This is a perfect place for brunch. The coffee is good and the service prompt based on my half dozen visits.
I recommend the zucchini (courgette) corn fritters or the smashed avocado. For those with a sweet tooth I recommend the chocolate soufflé.
A cautionary note, this is not a place for the budget conscious.More
Roast has got 2 branches, as far as I know. Have visited the one in emQuartier, which is always packed. This one at the Commons have got an outdoor sitting area which is great better.
No doubt that their food menu has been good for...all ages and definitely for a weekend brunch.
The outdoor area also allows pets! The staffs are also considerate to that and serves water for your thirsty pet on a hot day!More

Thong Lor & Ekamai
Known as Bangkok’s hippest neighbourhood, Thong Lor and Ekamai is where the city's well-dressed and well-heeled spend their nights sipping cocktails in hidden speakeasies and posh restaurants. Live it up in one of Thong Lor's extravagant clubs and be prepared to brush shoulders with a Thai celebrity or two. While great for a night out, the area is nothing short of interesting during the daytime, either. Expect a mix
of savvy coffee shops, pop-up bars and loads of vintage stores, brought to you by hip locals with eyes for design.
