We’ve been waited for 15mins for a cocktail, 50mins for the first dish to arrive with numerous times checking with the waitress. The waitress claims the kitchen is busy but I reckon the restaurant is busy day if almost an hour wait is a norm,...they should have notify the guests when order or even during the booking. Food is good in general however is not as good as it worth for 50 mins wait. Not sure if it is a normal or situation in their kitchen last night, my advise is make sure you have ample time for dinner if you chose to visit The Local.More

Lovely house with interesting Thai food. The restaurant menu was not your typical tourist grub but it was tasty and well presented. Service was friendly and efficient. I would recommend if someone visiting bangkok or for a romantic evening (but not going over the top).

I don’t recommend this place. It is inefficient, service is slow and unhelpful by Thai standards, and the food is overpriced for the quality

Authentic Thai cuisine, the Mieng Kam served on Lotus petal was particularly interesting and left a deep impression. The rest of the dishes were all yummy but we had so many I couldn't list them all. Can skip desserts though. A bit pricier than your...usual Bangkok fare but reasonably priced considering it's Michelin endorsement. Can skip the cocktails too.More

My family went to The Local to celebrate dad’s birthday - it was perfect, delicious food including deep fried fish with trio sauce, pandan wrapped chicken, and the pork rib red curry + lovely ambience. We brought a cake to celebrate and they were generous...to throw in a free dessert ice cream sticky rice. Thank you Thet! Would definitely recommend to try the place :)More

I believe it deserve its nomination to the red book , excellent genuine Thai food , well presented , good taste , good service , very decent wine list with good prices, Nothing to complain will go back for sure also super decent prices

We stayed with mostly recommended items for an 8 person family dinner. The massam and panang were outstanding. The Bib Gourmand was the perfect designation. Unique house atmosphere with great food.

Love all the dishes that we ordered, the lemongrass salad is amazing! Crab curry is very spicy but very smooth. However, don’t waste your money on the drinks, we had butterfly pea drink and it’s definitely the worse that we have had so far in...Thailand!More

The concierge at Marriott Surawongse who gave us this suggestion for "dinner in an authentic Thai restaurant" is an absolute STAR for this recommendation!!! Lovely property, really interesting just walking through - they have plenty of tables set around a few different themed rooms and...also offer private dining. From the moment you open the menu it begins to become obvious why they have won SO many awards and been listed in the Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand for the last 5 consecutive years. Four of us were dining, all of us are 'foodies' and we just couldn't believe how amazing and different the food/menu was. Great service, superb food, 4 thoroughly impressed diners!! I would definitely recommend the sharing platter appetiser - we had two between four and we all said if they just brought us more of that we would have been very happy!More

My family and I dined at this restaurant last night and the food was amazing, no wonder it has a Michelin bib. We were warmly greeted by staff and walked through the house to the main dining room upstairs. The decor was so beautiful and...elegant where we were also greeted by other excellent friendly staff. The food, we ordered the mixed entré platter, Pork salad with sticky rice, yellow fish curry, ox tongue massaman curry and also traditional mango rice for desert. All food was so delicious, we couldn't fault it. They have an extensive alcohol menu with great cocktails. I 100% recommend this and also to book in advance. I love the stir fry vege which surprisingly turned out to be my most favorite dish! Was looking for steamed seabass but they only serve deep fried fish. Congratulations on the Michelin!
