Recently, I had the pleasure of trying KHAAN, a Michelin-recommended Thai fine dining restaurant. I have been to some amazing fine dining restaurants here in Bangkok, so I definitely had high expectations of KHAAN. This restaurant is only a 9 minute walk from the Chit Lom BTS station, making it a very easily accessible place. An eye-pleasing exterior with well thought out colors and architecture, made me more excited to go inside and check it out. As soon as I stepped inside i was greeted by the front desk and the rest of the staff welcoming me in. I thoroughly enjoyed the friendly environment that the staff had created, and what it made even better was the fact that they were fluent in english, and that is something which is not easy to come across in Bangkok. Being able to talk with staff and to easily understand their explanations about what their restaurant is about, how they created each dish, as well as the inspiration for those dishes, made my night there extremely pleasant. At KHAAN I was able to experience Chef Aom’s brilliant 11-course meal (3,850 THB++), which is a blend of Traditional Thai cuisine and new cooking techniques. As I got seated, I was able to tell instantly at how well they have organized this place, no matter how full the restaurant is there will always be space to move around, removing that cramped feeling you get usually from other fine dining restaurants. After I got seated, the staff had brought out the first course for me, which was one of the most eye catching appetizers ive seen, and it definitely whet my appetite for the following dishes. For each dish that came out the staff had explained the origins of that dish and the preparation process of it so well, paying respects to the people of Thailand that play a huge part in their culture. Some of the dishes that I really enjoyed were the Lamb Shank with Basmati rice and Bumbai curry, The Hokkaido Scallops with Green Mussel Juice, and the Rice Paddy Crab with Sticky rice. Although these were my favorites, the entire menu was such a unique experience that tasted so incredible and high quality, and adding that on to the friendly and easy going environment which the staff had created made for a complete 10/10 time which is worth every penny! Would highly recommend visiting whenever you are in Bangkok!

Exceptional fine dining in beautiful location

We chose Khaan because of Chef Sujira Aom Pongmorn whom we knew from her time at Sawaan restaurant. She was great then and she is great now. Her creations from various Thai regions are most delicious and beautifully arranged. If there is anything to improve, we believe the excellent food could have been presented in a more casual and fun spirit. The place‘s nice and quiet location and tastefully designed interior add to the very pleasant experience. When you reserve a table, try not to be seated in the room without windows; also make sure to dress appropriately for a low room temperature. Recommended for special occasions or just for the taste of Chef Sujira Aom Pongmorn’s exceptional skills.

We visited here for New Years Day, and it was stunning. Really delicious and inventive food choices, inspired and used local produce. Great vegetarian choices, and an impressive wine list to match. Wonderful, classy, elegant atmosphere. Staff were attentive, talked us through the food choices and were comfortably on hand.

Great experience

This was by far the best Thai food I’ve had. The service was excellent and the timing was just right. Yesterday was my second visit and they did not disappoint. Staffs were friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was beautifully cooked and tasted delicious. I also like how they incorporate locally sourced ingredients from farmers into their menu. Will definitely come back!

A new Thai fine dining spot in Chidlom, founded by Chef Aom. The venue is luxury and private situated right in Soi Somkid. The food is well-balanced and well-seasoned with inspiration from chef's journey all over the country. Price is reasonable and service is top notch. They now offer 10% off during soft opening period.

Thai Fine Dining on Somkid Road

The food is exceptional, and the location is perfect. We're staying at Park Hyatt, and the restaurant is conveniently just 100 meters away. We particularly enjoyed the main course, Boombai Curry with lamb, and the wine pairing was superb.

Too Expensive!

Very good service, cooking and flavour, but the price is too high and not justify. 7400 THB for one person with an Austrian wine . It's the price for a restaurant 2 star or 3 star Michelin in Europe with a good french burgundy!

LOVED KHAAN. We came for the 11 course tasting menu and this place did not disappoint! It was an absolutely amazing experience and the food was exceptional. Loved the concept of elevating Thai street food from the chef (hats off to her). Very well thought out dishes and exceptional service. It was a great way to end our honeymoon in Bangkok!
