Having been walking around the area, looking for something to eat, checked on TripAdvisor app, and subsequently found "No Idea" restaurant, although we only took a simple burger and wine, it was perfectly presented, and tasted extremely good - clearly the owner takes a pride in what they do! Also the menu was quite extensive, so there is something for... More

I picked No Idea when I was craving a change from Thai food after traveling around the region for over a month. After going through their menu, I realized that what I really wanted was cheese, all the cheese. We ordered a cheese board, and the owner, a Kiwi, actually came by our table to ask about our preferences. This... More

Popular restaurant here owned by a Kiwi, in a great setting with quite a good list of wines to choose from. My starter was the Serrano ham cut freshly off the leg and followed with what was one of the best Guinness beef cheek I have had. Set on some great potato mash, it melted in my mouth, beautiful!! Suggest... More

We wanted to break up our vacation a little bit and eat something a bit different than Thai at one point, so we went to No Idea Cafe. They have a great wine list, beer selection, food specials, etc. The owner was present and very nice. He checked on us frequently. At the end, he brought us over some lemon-cello... More

This was my third visit to No Idea and I will certainly return. The restaurant is described as a cafe gastropub and I would class it in the latter category. It is located about 50m down Sukhumvit Soi 22 just past the Holiday Inn housed within a small mansion fronted by black marble pillars, ornamental railings and a heavy ornate... More

I am from Austin, Texas and my buddy that joined me from dinner is from San Francisco, so we both know food and service. You can count on both being very satisfactory! And the place has a warm ambiance to it that I really enjoyed. And unlike many restaurants in Bangkok, the music really is background and does not make... More

After reading reviews on TA I looked forward to this place. When I arrived at 7 on a Thursday it was empty. Several episodes of "service" from one waiter were efficient but subtly contemptuous. Ordered the much praised Harissa chicken. To her credit, a waitress did her best to appease me as it took nearly an hour. When it arrived,... More

What indeed. The problem with writing false reviews is you really do need to visit the establishment to get your facts straight. You arrived on Thursday at 7 and "the place was empty" We have been fully booked out on Thursdays for weeks as any number of of guests would verify. The restaurant is never empty at 7pm any day... One would think that eating at the same restaurant 2-3 times a week while vacationing in Bangkok would become boring. Not so with No Idea. In addition to their ample menu, there is a constantly changing list of specials to choose from. The food is always fresh and expertly prepared. The beverage selection at the bar is impressive and the... More

Went tonight after reading reviews. Have generally been put off by the busy Sukhumvit road and the loud music and appearance of a noisy bar. But once Inside its a very nice dining room, super attentive staff and excellent food. The wide beverage stock is impressive. Prices are high for Bangkok but they've got the western / Asian fusion just... More

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighborhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
