The Rain Tree Cafe has superb Sunday brunch. The quality of the food and the varieties are great. There are myriad of appetizers, salads, sea food, oysters, sushi, as well as great selections of Thai, Chinese, Indian dishes. The grill section serves Lobster, Wagyu Beef, and Lamb chops, etc.. Great selection for desserts, including crepe suzette and excellent ice cream.... More

My wife and I were looking for a buffet in Bangkok. After booking at the Momo cafe in the Marriott hotel and being told that there would be a table waiting for us at the cost of 800BHT per person, we rock up to find that there was no such table and no buffet on Saturday nights, only Friday's. Anyway,... More

Great location. Huge space with a rather good ambience. Seating is comfortable and well spaced. The seats by the windows are best. Service is good and very attentive, as is the range of food on offer. Where it disappoints is the quality of the food. The sandwiches were badly made and the Thai food better but still a bit below... What a nice buffet! It's really busy on the weekend but a nice spread of seafood and some live cooking. Very spicy curry but well seasoned Indian cuisine.

The Rain Tree Cafe has been the beneficiary of the transformation of the Plaza Athenee Bangkok which has taken place over recent years under the guidance of the hotel's able management team. The physical transformation in itself is significant; where there was once a consolidated buffet section they have spread the buffet through out the room. This achieves not only... More

The Rain Tree Café has been reconceived in a modern interpretation of Thai neo-colonial interior décor + style. Three separate but complementary spaces evidencing extreme elegance and making excellent use of natural light are interwoven with threads of touching homeliness. These three unique areas are cleverly interwoven and are aptly named: The Bronze Kitchen upgraded with interactive live cooking stations, The Valaya Room with its formal library-style "VIP" space and The Secret Garden for more private affairs. Enjoy an inspiring voyage of discovery on our stunning international buffet that also features five specialty dishes of the day from our specialist head chefs. Service for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Sunday Brunch and Dessert Buffet.
