I did not eat a Fan Wah Charted dinner cruise. I had lunch on their two story restaurant and felt like I was dining on a boat. We had lunch on their huge covered outdoor deck. The breeze was heavenly and our server excellent. The menu has Thai as well as Western options. We ordered a green curry chicken dish... More

Ate a la carte as a walk-in - not part of a cruise package. Nice location, with not many riverside restaurants in that part of town, but the food was nothing short of disgusting. All dishes undercooked and flavourless. A restaurant very much relying on the tour groups for the "meal and cruise" packages.

The most pleasant dinner cruise we've had in Bangkok. The open air rice barge style boat was big enough for only 20 - 25 diners and everyone had a good view out. What surprised us the most was the quality of the food - surprisingly good!! On some dinner cruises, the food is mediocre at best. But the food on... More

I was visiting the Wan Fah boat restaurant as a suprise gift from my SO. The restaurant insisted on picking us up from the hotel, and we got caught in the middle of rush hour. Normally the ride from our hotel to the pier would've taken 20-30 minutes, but we were stuck for almost 2 hours and nearly missed the... More

The food is very poor doesn't matter if you choose seafood or Thai both are quite terribly and over cooked which is a true shame as the tour itself is beautiful and the dancers the highlight . Really upsetting as the boat is traditional and the idea is excellent but it all gets ruined by the lousy food.

I along with 95 people of my group went there yesterday (14 Jan 2015)noon. Atmosphere was superb. But when I went for soup I found a dead cockroach was floating in one of the three soup tureens/pots. When I asked my local guide to show it to the restaurant manager..the manager just said ok & simply changed the pot and... More

We got to this place (refuse to call it a restaurant) at 8pm on a Wednesday; there was a disgusting stench on the way in then they told us they were not serving food. We needed to get back to our hotel; Wan Fah is on the river but they had no idea whether the service boats were still running... More

We were a bit concerned that this trip might be really cheesy, as other "cultural experiences" in the past had been but we actually enjoyed it. We chose this boat because it was smaller than many competitors and did not have the blaring music of the party boats. We hadn't realised that it was built in the style of an... More

Had a very enjoyable evening. Were seated at a table for two, both facing in the same direction which was nice. It started raining (and was windy) at times so they needed to put down drapes which blocked out the view, but it only lasted a short period of time. The food was a little spicy for my personal liking... More

Chinatown / Yaowarat
Better known as 'Yaowarat' among locals, Chinatown is Bangkok's bustling district that never sleeps. During the day, the main street and its small alleyways are filled with a vibrant mix of colours, scents and flavours coming from the roadside restaurants and all-day markets. The real action, however, happens after sunset. Surrounded by neon lights, Thais and tourists alike flock here around dinnertime to feast on some of the best street food in town. Escape the chaos by venturing a little further from the main road and discover hidden shrines, friendly locals and daily life in its purest form.
