One of our nicest Italian meals. They do good pastas, and the Gelato and Tiramisu are excellent. Nice ambience too.’

I was very disappointed by that pizzeria , if you like and if you know what is a pizza don't go there . The base for a pizza is the dough which is supposed to be handmade for a such restaurant. The one I eat...had nothing to see with a real dough pizza. My comment concerns exclusively the pizza.More

Great food. We ate pizza, pasta and risotto and had thai beer. Everything was tasty, but not very special. Good price. Great service. The staff was very nice and the restaurant had a cozy environment.

If you’re picturing a dusty saloon in the old Wild West, rest assured Cantina Pizzeria & Italian Kitchen isn’t that kind of ‘cantina’. The charming eatery located down Sukhumvit soi 11 dishes out some amazing Italian fare, with a relaxed ambience set against a stylish,...masterfully rendered interior setting. We started with the Beef Carpaccio the gossamer-thin imported beef crowned with rocket and generously thick Parmesan shavings—very good starter there. Italian Sausage Salad made with Luganiga pork bangers and dressed in Balsamic reduction. The Mushroom & Truffle Soup is quite good… ok-- it’s really good; thick, rich tasting with drizzles of olive oil and superb house-made bread on the side. For our pasta plate we settled on the Fettucine Cantina with its creamy-rich, utterly decadent cheese sauce and perfectly textured house-made noodles. Meat-wise, the boneless Roasted Organic Chicken Thigh scores points for its boldly seasoned, over-crisped skin and super-smooth mashed potato accompaniment. Very recommended for dessert is Cantina’s Tiramisu. With its strong coffee flavour and creaminess, this is really one of the best local versions of Tiramisu we’ve ever tasted. But the real star at Cantina is the pizza, which is hand-crafted in the adjoining Soho Pizza. A cousin-brand of Cantina, Soho Pizza bakes up some of the most delectably nuanced pies in town, specialising in its slice-friendly New York style, while here at the Soi 11 location where the two brands merge Cantina’s own Napolitano-style pizza is on the menu as well. With this unique set-up, diners can choose from these two distinct pizza styles—old-country Napolitano or Italian diaspora influenced New York style. And Soho Pizza is serious about technique: dough is fermented for 48 hours instead of the standard overnight, giving both crust variants their appealing texture and complex flavour. We had a wedge of Roasted Mushroom New York Pizza, which was indeed crispy-crusted and dupremely delicious, as was the Prosciutto & Funghi Neapolitan style, which has a chewier crust and these premium toppings are just, wow. In a nod to NYC’s let’s grab a slice pizza culture, Soho Pizza’s street-front counter continues dispensing its signature New York style slices until 4am, shining like a beacon in the night for munchie-afflicted club goers looking for a post-party time chowdown. Uncharacteristic of the excellent cooking here, one dish we tried that was somewhat underwhelming was the Fresh Spinach and Italian Bean salad. The ingredients were fresh and high quality, but there was nothing inspiring about how they were combined to create this dish, and the olive oil was a bit over represented, unpleasantly overpowering the other ingredients. This is not a core menu item and is no big deal considering how good everything else we tried turned out to be. Cantina’s pleasant, unassuming vintage provincial interior motif uses plenty of rustic touches like distressed brickwork and faux-aged wooden floors. There’s also an upper floor dining room with a communal long table and enchantingly candlelit sideboards that bring to mind a grand estate house in the Tuscan countryside. Service here is top-notch, the international staff is very attentive and thorough. It’s a bit pricey but the high quality ingredients and preparation very much justify the robust tariffs.More
