This was one of the excellent Italians in Bangkok for many years and one of our favorite places. Now the chef has opened other restaurants and so understandably his attention has been diverted elsewhere. This is where restaurants usually start to go down and this was no different. The tomato sauce was so sour it almost seemed spoilt, the penne... More

Been coming here for a long time, and just noticed that the menu has changed - we decided to just share lots of dishes between the 3 of us; great choice. We still had our old favourite, the scmorza cheese starter, but then tried lots of different starters, all were good. Oh, plus one main course, the house special risotto... More

Any time I rank a restaurant a 4 rating, that represents an outstanding dining experience. This applies to the restaurant La Bottega di Luca in the Thong Lor section of Bangkok. I was excited to visit this place based on the high reviews in TA and the impressive looking menu online. We arrived a bit early on a Wed night... More

This Italian restaurant stands out in a sea of Italian restaurants in Bangkok. Luca the Chef/owner has lovely fresh dishes with an imaginative menu. The restaurant is down soi 49 just before Samitivej Hospital in a small outdoor shopping centre. I absolutely love sitting on the outdoor deck hidden in the back it is a true oasis. Try the mussels... More

Bangkok has many Italian Restaurants but this one stands out. It has the best genuine Italian food, you name it. It is quite a cozy place, not big but compact yet very quiet and enjoyable. The owner Luca Apino, (a fun guy) himself would appear most of the time to check your needs.. so, service is superb. The food is... More

The restaurant is well decorated with indoor, outdoor and exclusive seatings. There are wide selection of Italian food choices in the menu. Atmosphere is great as well as the service by Khun Tee, the Captain, and his crew. Pasta and risotto are fantastic. I had rib eye steak which was weighed in 100 grams so it's good to order just... The restaurant is nice and warm in the evening, if you have a table outside. Food was good, pasta perfectly cooked, only miss some salt. Risotto was perfectly seasoned, but slightly overcooked. Good wines to good prices. Little bit overpriced but overall a great visit. Will probably visit La Bottega again.

Good beer, soso truffles risotto . Truffles specks? Signature dish rather disappointing. Good beer though. Good tiramisu though. Could do with more alcohol in tiramsu

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighborhood Profile
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
