........and its all about the broth. Found the ramen pork dish I had lacking in depth and greasy and nothing like as good as I have had even in the cheapest places in Japan. The pork was way to fatty for my taste as well....I left a lot of my dish and I was really hungry. However my other half did enjoy their dish. Staff and service were good, but its a bit out of the way to get too and I would probably not make the effort again.More

Year after year we visit this place and really, they are still the best in business. Pricing is competitive, service is absolutely great, and you get the choice to limit the amount of oiliness in your Ramen. They are known for the greasiest Ramen, but...keeping that in mind, you can change it. Location a bit hard to find for those who aren't from Bangkok. I would probably eat here almost every week if it wasn't so unhealthy! Fantastic on all accounts.More

Came here to try one of their signature Bankara ramen menus, and enjoyed most of the bowl. Everything from produce; i.e pork belly, eggs, and additional condiments was as nice as I would expect in high-quality ramen shops - just like those in Japan. Although...I must say the drawback was the soup being a little too salty and I wish I could enjoy the rest of the bowl. Otherwise, the restaurant itself was incredible; clean, Japanese in style, private and staff were all welcoming and hospitable - the Japanese style. Nicely done, but a little less salt on the broth / soup if I can comment for the better :) I'm happy to revisit to try out their other dishes.More

Very good ramen place with an authentic Japanese experience. There is also side dishes like spinach with sesame and a good selection of beers and Japanese liquor. Very much recommended

A great ramen! We ate the belly pork ramen, the belly was delicious and the noodles was amazing! But The broth was lacking of flavor.. We also ate the spring roll shrimp, it was very good.

The broth is so flavourful, meat were so tender, noodle consistency is just right and everything blends well together. Ordered yuzu soda, and it wasn't too sweet, just nice for my taste. Like the bambooshoot!!

Great ramen, very flavorful broth. The restaurant is not formal, but is really nice and serene, with divided booths for privacy. The ramen was great, as was the chicken karage with spicy sauce. Good size portions, so if you are not terribly hungry, sharing a...bowl with a loved one is perfect.More

Quite an institution among ramen shops, this is the very first location in Bangkok. Good variety of broths and filings, everyone will find something suitable. Gyoza is good too, by the way. Both, ice and hot teas, are refilled at will. With all extra charges...included, it’s not a cheapest place to eat, yet it’s worth paying a bit for a quality meal. Free car park in very congested neighborhood, is a big advantage.More

If you are coming from the main Sukhumvit Street, it’s better to take a taxi or bike because this place is almost towards the end of soi 39. For the ramen, it won’t be the healthier option. You can see small lumps of fats floating...on the soup base. The broth is good but it didn’t give that kick I was expecting. It got better with 2 full cloves of garlic and some sesame though. The noodles are ok, not the harder type of ramen which gives a better chewy feel.More

I didn't expect much given the location but I did read good things about it. Service was fantastic, very friendly and engaging and the ramen is absolutely amazing. I love how they have the whole cloves of garlic and you press them as you like...- great idea. Very well priced, it was like $10 AUD per person. The braised pork in the ramen is just sooo good and adds another dimension. Looking forward to returning in the near future.More

Bankara ramen is a traditional ramen in Soi 39. Soft and tender ramen noodle in favor full bankara’s style soup.

For years Ramen for me was just a "cup of noodles" the one you add hot water and wait, never something i craved just a go to when nothing else was available, my college kids talking about this new craze in a the past few...years left me baffled, a couple of nights stop over in Tokyo on our way to from New York to Bangkok on a 2 weeks holiday and I found myself sitting by the counter of a local Ramen place - about $5 bowl of goodness, at first, I didn't know how to react in front of the kids after all those years of saying "how good could some noodles in a soup bowl could be?" I decided I must try few more before making up my mind, arriving in Bangkok few days later, looking up a Ramen place on trip advisor we decided to try Bankara Ramen, it was highly recommended and a walking distance from our hotel on suhkhumvit, there are no words to describe how delighted we were with the Ramen, just to say that we came back 2 more times beside trying 3-4 other Ramen places in Bangkok, I have been to few Ramen places in New York since we got back home I can say there is no comparison - Ramen Bankara is on a class of its own, as if it's the original and all others are just cheap fake, I cannot express how rich the broth was at Bankara, the noodles and pork + all the add on options - it's was so much better than all the others I have tried since that I have decided I am going back to Japan on a search for same or better, if you are in Bangkok do yourself a culinary favor and have a bowl of the house recommended (can't remember the exact name but they will tell you) Ramen, no mater I how hot it is outside just do it and you will thank me and the others who recommended this place, I have since got some friends visiting Bangkok go try it and it's something we talk about often, been to North and south America, Europe Asia and Africa, one of the top 10 meals I ever had, it's that good!More
