We had dinner At isao three times this week and the food is almost decent although not every dish in the menu got it BUT inside this street is hard to find a taxi and then the waitresses offered to call a taxi for us and told us that would cost according to the meter plus 30 bath. We agreed... More

I was recommended this sushi shop while attending a program in Singapore 2 weeks ago. I had lunch there earlier and everything I was told about Isao is spot on. I went after the lunch crowd so i was able to get a seat at the bar although at 1:30pm, the place is still full of patrons. I ordered the... More

I have known the place for the past 10 years and it's has unfortunately become an IN place and difficult to get a spot for lunch or dinner. The food creation is absolutely unique and for me the best taste / design in Bangkok. Decor, service all good. Maybe not the best but who cares. The food quality has been... More

I don't profess to be a sushi or Japanese food expert but for me this is the best sushi I have had. This place fills up quickly and you may have to wait but it's worth the wait. The premises are crowded but it adds to the atmosphere as you watch the Sushi chefs at their craft. If you want... More

Absolutely good Japanese food value for money. Some of the sauces for the individual are just done perfectly.

Excellent Japanese fusion food. Sushi with a bit of a crunch. Fills up very quickly on an evening, even mid week.

One of the better sushi options in Bangkok. Service isn't worth writing home about. Seating is cramped. Won't return based on poor service and cramped seating. Hard to enjoy delicious sushi when you're uncomfortable and the people waiting on you are a downer.

Affordable lunch set at 300 baht only for sashimi set. The sushi sandwich is very nice too. Should visit for lunch which is less crowded. For dinner better to call for reservation before coming.

Been there so many times Never disappoint me Love all their makirolls. Fresh fish, reasonable price and great service. Maybe they need more seats so customers don't have to queue up :)

The fish at this restaurant is incredible. Some of it is flown in straight from Tokyo. It's all extraordinarily fresh. The chefs prepare the perfect combination of rice and fish. The wasabi is genuine wasabi route, not the green paste you're used to. It's expensive for Bangkok, but reasonably priced for western standards. I paid about $30 for one person... More

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighborhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
