Had very good evening with my family at this place. Isaan food was really good, excellent service and entertainment complemented the whole evening. Will certainly come back when next time in Bangkok.

It is a very good restaurant with great ambiance. Live performances (music and dance) at least Saturday's is good also.
This was the fourth year that we have had an evening at Vientiane Kitchen, and every year it delivers the highlight of our trip to Bangkok. The food, presentation, service and ambiance is the same high quality, but the entertainment improves year after year. We...have been blessed with the same beautiful, traditionally dressed dancers, along with the talented five piece band. The youthful multi- instrumentalists have matured into genuine entertainers, remaining on stage from around19:30 until closing and producing a complete performance encompassing a variety of traditional and modern instruments. Lately they have included more humor and audience participation, along with an understanding of many languages. Be prepared to let your hair down and have a dance or play a diverse instrument. It is also a venue with great character and the high quality food won't break the bank.More
Attended the Vientiane in February. Found the staff to be very friendly and welcoming and the food was wonderful. The entertainment throughout the evening was also very nice and the performers included the audience in an engaging way. I will be back next trip.
I take my farang guests here as not only is the food a traditional Esan style but the entertainment is great as well as they get you to participate
Hidden in street, it was a gem. A nice feeling as you enter the restaurant, you would most likely be greeted with an english speaking waitress, nice and friendly. Variety of thailand seafood dishes can be ordered, and it helps with the english and sampled...photos. As you wait for your food, live music, cultural dances and mingling with the food crowd, brings life to the restaurant. Food is good. Atmosphere is relax, fun and homely. Just what you need after a long work day.More
I had again a great evening at this place. Isaan food is excellent, service is great, entertainment is phantastic with life music and a lot of fun. I will certainly come back during my next Bangjok trip
We first visited this place 5 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening, so we were looking forward to a return visit. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The standard of the food was good but the bill was incredibly inflated. The prices on the...menu were seemingly fairly priced but somehow the drinks and service charges were staggeringly high The entertainment was good but we would not consider revisiting any time soonMore
I liked the food. I liked the Isan music and dancing entertainment. I didn't like the bill. And I'm not sure why it was so high. Each course was reasonable. Maybe my son and friend were hungry as it all went. I think also that...beer is no longer cheap in Thailand. Gotta raise the taxes somewhere and make a profit somehow. So, take your hot date here. Don't give her the menu. Order yourself..... And never expect to see her again. Seriously, this place is kinda like Rudy's BBQ in TX but with NE Thai food and live entertainment. But it won't be a $2 bill like a roadside food stand. It's unlikely to break your bank either. Just that $100 for 3 came as a shock, especially when they said the credit card reader was shut down for the night. And they didn't mind me taking my 6 dogs. Gotta give them a thumbs up for this! Make that 2 thumbs up. Nice people. Go. It was great.More
As a visitor from USA and Chiang Rai, I would refer this as a hidden gem. The food would be rated 4 Stars, and the live band would take it to the 5th. They played a touch of Thai plus a few hits from the...the States. Two gorgeous Thai dancers added to the entertainment. The service was excellent and food tasty. Check it out!More
Great place to try some authentic Issan food if you are in Bangkok. I have been here a few times and will return again. My favourite dish is the ant egg soup. Sounds awful, but its fantastic. Good menu, good entertainment and not expensive. Well...worth a visit for anyone who is new to Thailand.More
We had a brilliant evening of good food, fantastic entertainment and a great atmosphere. The menu is large with plenty of choice for vegetarians. There are also adventurous options - such as the ants egg omelette. Our table ordered multiple things to share, such as...spring rolls, curries, sticky rice, salads and of course, the ants egg omelette. All the food was hot and tasty, with a good selection of deserts too. The main star of the show however, was the entertainment. We were delightfully treated to a couple of hours of live Thai music, dancing and performance. Audience participation gave anyone who wanted to the option of a crash course in Bamboo stick dancing. I don't want to spoil the surprise - but as someone who strongly dislikes any kind of tacky animation holiday shows - this was far from that and everyone had great fun whether watching or participating. I highly recommend this restaurant for an unforgettable Thai experience.More
I discovered this place at Thong Lo in Sukhumvit, about five minutes walk from Thong Lo BTS station. It's in a lane off the main road. The restaurant is a mainly wooden shed like structure sort of open at places on the sides so it...can get quite warm inside. The menu has a lot of interesting dishes. I had some Ant egg soup with sweet vegetables, with a little rice in it it was very nice. Then I tried some Ant egg salad which was ok, the flavour of Lemongrass subdued all the other flavours, maybe they should put a little less of it. The Spicy frog was nice, nice and hot with Birds eye chillies, Pea aubergines and some other vegetables. It was quite bony because here they use the whole frog, not just the legs. To finish I had some Fried crocodile with local herbs and chilli which too was very nice. I had some cold Lao beer with lunch. The restaurant was quite empty. I understand it fills up in the evening when they have a music and dance show there. Next time I have to try some more dishes. I wanted to try the Pork spare ribs with honey this time but they weren't available.... next time. They also serve the crocodile with a pepper sauce. On the menu they have some Wild pork, some interesting fish dishes and a few grilled beef and pork dishes like Ko Mu Yang (charcoal grilled pork neck) and a lot more. This restaurant deserves a few more visits. The food here is mainly Lao and Isaan (from Northeast Thailand bordering Laos and Cambodia)More
This was my first venture to Vientiane Kitchen, but it will not be my last, as I will be booking for my next visit to Bangkok next year. We were fortunate that the taxi driver was aware of the Laotian restaurant, as it is down...a back street, but don't be put off from the outside, as the inside decor creates an unforgettable ambience. We were greeted by a delightful waitress, whose English was very good and she was very helpful with the menu and very attentive for the whole evening. All the dishes that we ordered were delicious and of very good quality and the prices were very reasonable, given the restaurant's popularity. We were treated to some very good entertainment in the form of a multi-talented group of musicians and very attractive traditional Thai dancers. At the climax of the evening, we, the audience were invited to participate, which was a good experience, and a great photo opportunity.More
It's a must to try experience. A really nice atmosphere in the restaurant and not expensive. Traditional food and show with music, dance and songs.
