If you have all the time in the world you should definitely check this place out. Other people were saying that they have a bad service, but to be fair, they're only 3 people working there (including the owner herself). You can imagine how slow they manage to prepare your dish one by one. Just chill and take a deck... More

We found this resto in our travel book as a must try.. The food was okay I've had better street food and the service is so so poor the owner is extremely rude. Would not recommend.

I went to this place because I saw it on trip advisor ranked very high! Get there and the owner was aggressive towards her employee . I didn't get what I ordered and took about an hour and a half to get it ! Big fail

We accodentaly run into this restaurant because of Lonely Planet (2012 editon). I have to say that I can only pray for having a good night sleep withou any digestion troubles. The chicken smells like horribly and the price was above average. So sorry to say that this was just so not the restaurant we have expected.

We stopped in for lunch today and had red curry with duck and tom kha gai. Both were fantastic, with complex, balanced flavors. Portions were hearty. Service, as others have noted, was lacking--after taking our order and bringing the food, our server did not stop by again until we stood up and asked for the bill. This, however, was a... More

I'm Thai and I've been visited this restaurant for more than ten years ago. I felt that food is very good quality but today I'm very disappointed! Not only food which is bad and not authentic Thai, the service is very bad as well! Tom yam koong which is very Thai dish but the fried prawn is used to be... More

Located in a pretty and calm oasis in the heart of Bangkok's hustle and bustle, this unpretentious restaurant offers superb Thai cuisine, a huge variety cooked with love. you can ask for the special of the day or choose from the extensive menu (with English translation), it is all good! Just check the level of spicy heat with the lady.... More

This is one of the restaurants that I keep going back to in Bangkok, as its a place steeped in history and has a unique method of cooking that is not the perceived mainstream Thai food. I was introduced by locals, who have been eating there for over a decade, and I have since gone back to the restaurant twice,... More

A long running shophouse kinda restaurant in an Old town part of Bangkok. Chote-Chitr serves you authentic Thai food in a laid-back atmosphere. We can easily see why this place is so popular among tourists - yummy food guaranteed, located in a historical area where is good to take a stroll either before or after meal, listed in Tripadvisor and... When I arrived at the restaurant, I sat at the table outside at the entrance. I called the wait staff a few times to order but no one came. Either I was invisible or she was ignoring me. After waiting longer, she finally came, and the food was served quick after that.

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
