Stumbled upon this place last week and bought the most expensive beer of my entire trip! Equated to GBP 7.25!!!!! 320 baht for a draught pint due to ordering this having been led to the back (where the jazz takes place) to make my order... do not do this!! Order at front of house for a fraction. Workers knew we... More

We were staying near Brown Sugar so decided To visit after reading good reviews in my rough guide book. Our children were pleased To get a burger!! Although there were not many 'fries'. My beef goulash was yummy but the meat was tough And not very much of it (lots of carrots And rice). The cocktails were yummy, but Lindon... More

Went with some friends on a Saturday night at 830PM. Place was completely packed by 930 so make sure you get there fast if you want a table. Service was absolutely horrible, slow, unattentive and careless. The music was great so I guess thats the only reason people go here. Pricey drinks for the location and atmosphere.

I was been on a Wednesday and there was a thai band playing jazz. It was a good moment, excellent music and good food except pizza as it was normal (I'm Italian so I pretend too much for pizza 😊). Price very high, too expensive

We went on Saterday evening and had a great time. The music was done by a Thai group when we arrived a bit late after dinner, but they were fantastically talented.

Good music, mediocre/bad service, and very very pricey drinks! Food was delivered wrong twice, good thing the great singer made up for it!

The Brown Sugar was very close to our hotel. We enjoyed a great dinner, opting for several menu items and sharing. The drinks were fabulous and the music was rocking.

Nice venue in the old town of Bangkok. Not a very busy neighbourhood, but a nice bar for some nice Jazz and some beers. Prices are average and the crowd is very mixed with Thai and Farang.

Good little jazz bar/cafe but the 2 occasions we visited the service was very slow and somewhat disorganised. The staff are very friendly though and really do want to do a good job for you, but they just seem to somehow get it wrong. Good as a meeting place or a quick bite to eat (the food is excellent, and... More

Location - just across from Lumpini Park near the junction of Soi Lang Suan. There are a couple of other hideouts located along the same stretch of road, but not all offering Jazz. Comes in handy if Brown Sugar is full. Food and Drinks - really nothing spectacular about the food or drinks but pricing is reasonable and won't burn... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
