I recently was fortunate to have my lunch in La Scala, though more recommendable for romantic couples of business gatherings, I was impressed with the extensive menu and wine lists, the sharp service of khun Lek - the restaurant manageress - and above all I can highly recommend the "sandwich pizza" if I may call it this way as can't... We have been dinner at La Scala restaurant at The Sukhothai Bangkok Hotel. The signature pizza was great. The ambiance was very classy.

I enjoyed a wonderful meal at La Scala with my wife. Yes it is pricey however the service ad atmosphere is excellent and the food magnificent. I enjoyed the Foie Gras in Puff Pastry with Apple and Caramel for Appetiser (YUM) and the Tortellini as a main (DOUBLE YUM). There was a great selection of wines however my wife and... More

A trip to the best fine dining tables of Italy in the heart of one of the most beautiful hotels in Bangkok. Everything here is just perfect. Service, food, wines,... Of course the price comes with it, but when compared to what you would pay in Italy for the same quality, is it really out of range???? And in Italy... More

I visited this restaurant again just to reach the same conclusion: the food is below my standar and the prices are an exaggeration. As a matter of fact, by the prices they charge you would think it is the best Italian restaurant in Bangkok. This is far from true, however, and you don’t have to look far to enjoy much... More

Went for dinner and there were 5 of us. I have personally been to La Scala more than a dozen times. Earlier it used to be one of my favorites in terms of food but I find that since the last year or so it's just average. To be fair I am a vegetarian and have always been but earlier... More

I met a friend for lunch. The food was wonderful and presented well. Quite tasty. A nice and fairly priced wine list too. The ambiance was special, very classy. It is by no means inexpensive, but well worth a visit. Our waiter, Jobs, was very attentive and met our needs. Highly recommended.

Staying in Sathorn

Neighborhood Profile
Sathorn is Bangkok’s central business district, but here you’ll find much more than international banks and suited-up office workers. Take a stroll along the small alleys between the skyscrapers and you’ll find yourself among Bangkokians living life at a much slower pace. Feast on fantastic Thai food which you can find in the town-house restaurants, office food courts and sidewalk food stalls spread all over the area, especially around St. Louis Hospital. A visit to Sathorn is not complete without a drink at one of the glitzy sky bars perched atop its skyscrapers.
